Umm...read the news. They're tunnelling already. They've found corrupt border guards already smuggling them in. There are ports and Canada as well. I bet you have a lock on your front door and leave all other doors and windows all open each night? Because this is what you're calling for.

Ughm read the news, if they build the fence they did in San Diego it prevents such things and has seismic sensors that can detect that. 20+ million people aren't getting here through tunnels. There getting here through the 2000miles of open border.

Tell me where in this bill amnesty is granted. Prove to me what section in this bill will immediately give amnesty to all 12 million illegals. Show me you're right. I'm looking at the bill right now and I don't see amnesty anywhere. You can buy into the talk radio spin all you want but amnesty is not in this bill.

The HB1 Visa IS AMNESTY!

Who is trying that? Because this bill addresses ALL of the concerns here. Unlike the flipside that would rather sit in the flooded house and let mold and mildew take over. I guess trying to dry up and clean up the water damage would be stupid right? I hope you never face a natural disaster.

No the flip side would shut the water off. Then deal with the existing mess. Makes sense to me. Yes, trying to clean up the mess while water is still flooding in is stupid.

Hey man, you are crazy. Should we just do nothing? Are you so naive that you think by legalizing the 20+ million illegals it will stop more from coming? If we legalize these guys there will be another 50 million coming. Before you know it we will be the ones who are being run out of our own country! I live in California so you really have no clue what the situation is. Move out of Tennessee to one of the border states and maybe you will appreciate the situation a little more.

First of all I am not in TN...assumption wrong on your part. Did I say do nothing? Odd I don't think I did. Who is legalizing 20 million people? Where do you get this crap? Oh my bad talk radio.

Here's a mental challenge to you. Please go to the Senate website and read the bill. Tell me where amnesty is listed and where 20 million people automatically become citizens. And please tell me how a fence will stop people from crossing the border. Since people are already going through the fences up, I fail to see your plan doing anything but making us the laughing stock.

I have an idea. How about we just let anyone and everyone who wants to come here in. Murderers, rapists, war criminals! Man, get them in here now! I love this place. We will give them whatever they need. Who cares if they hate us and just want to make money. Who cares if they are slowly turning this great nation into a third world piss hole. This is great, I love it!

deportation hearings stop as soon as this bill is signed by the president.

that's amnesty

the illegals already here who can "prove" that they were here before 1-1-2007 are given legal immigrant status while their Z visa application is processed.

that's amnesty

if a z visa application isn't processed within 24 hours, the applicant can go before a special court and be given a provisional visa.

that's amnesty

Again, you're proving to me you've not read the bill. Sitting in a house flooded is stupid which is what the opponents in Congress are forcing on us. This bill actually addresses all facets. Again, take the mental challenge here. Read the bill and prove me wrong.

Oh come on! These guys are politicians with million dollar special interests groups writing the bills. The only reason the word AMNESTY is no explicitly listed in there is because of the mess back in 86. OH wow, there was a big plan to fix everything. 20 years later we are 10x worse and the bill did the exact opposite of what it set out to accomplish. This bill will have the same affect only it will be much worse.

If you read the bill you will note that the illegals will have to leave the country. They will have to apply, pay application fees, and pay a $4000 penalty plus prove several other items before even getting approved. Not everyone will be approved so where amnesty for 20 million comes in is a myth.

This penalty plan is very similar to paying a speeding ticket. Somehow I don't think that is amnesty since it goes on your record and you're left with that mark in addition to paying higher insurance costs.

Did I say I have read the bill? I don't need to read a bill on illegal immigration when existing laws are already not enforced. Why do I need more legislation? Why do I need more legislation telling me how they are going to stop something that is already illegal? Yes, Congress is forcing us to live in a flooded house by not protecting the borders of this country. You tell me how this bill shuts off the flow of illegal immigration.

What do you think the interests blocking this bill have in mind? Nothing accomplished means cheap labor still exists and these 'evil special interests' still get their very cheap labor without paying taxes. Keeping it as it is now means they get their undocumented labor. It also means you and I pay a higher tax burden and will continue covering the costs of their healthcare and education. So 'secure the borders' still keeps the burdens to you and I going and will allow them to get worse.

YOU READ IT WRONG! Upon passage they are IMMEDIATLY given HB1 Visas which is permanent residence. In essence they have been legalized. Oh and who is going to bother to go home when they can just stay here, stay illegal and pay no taxes. They say they are trying to bring them out of the shadows. Come to California or go to Texas, NONE of them are in the shadows. There gangs run around and terrorize entire communities and yet we are talking about even letting all the MS-13 gang members stay here. You really gotta feel sorry for our country. It has become more important to do what foreigners want then what our own people are pleeding for. SECURE THE DAMN BORDERS!

Penalty? Shoot, they will get a reward for not going back. Some of our elected officials will be there to make sure they take more American jobs.

It does a hell of a lot more than a fence does. Like I said how does a fence stop this? Again, people already found holes (literally and figuratively) in this fence that is up already. So your argument already cannot even resolve anything.

It would not take 900 pages I can tell you that. I would secure the border first. Then debate can begin on what happens to who is already here. I don't doubt that making most of these people citizens is a realistic possibility. But I don't even care about that situation until the border is secured. Secure the border, first issue.
