It's not refusal to discuss the issue, it's an opinion.

How is this not intolerant?

I couldn't wait for you to make this comparison. I knew it was a matter of time.
Health Care Pros: Americans who haven't gotten coverage will now get coverage. (Take out the people who were uninsured by choice and the people who are simply too lazy to do anything and don't deserve help, and it's s pretty small percentage of people it benefits.)
Health Care Cons: Socialistic, bad for smaller businesses, unfairly takes more money from hard working people and rewards free-loaders, will result in a decrease in health care quality and efficiency, and will be horrible economically for states.
Official English Language Pros: More convenient for current citizens, ensures business conducted in English, encourages assimilation among legal immigrants.
Official English Language Cons: Essentially none for legal citizens.
Don't use your socialistic garbage to fit your ridiculous agenda.
That doesn't. However, trying to do business with someone who doesn't speak English is a major pain. My Spanish is good enough that I'm not concerned about myself, and it will probably be beneficial to me in future employment. However, there is no downside to an official English language.thanks for proving a point.... your way or no way... nope, you have to go with the status quo...
and how does having spanish under an english document make it any less inconvenient for citizens??? IT DOESN'T unless you want it to. I deal with the same stuff, yet, somehow I'm not bothered by it. The second you realize everybody aint like you, the better off you will be.
More than likely, though, there's ZERO diversity in your life so you truly have no clue about these issues.
Tolerance is a broad term. Suggesting that english only advocates are bigots or racist is an intolerant position in and of itself since it ignores the potential for an honest position on an issue; a position that is rooted in other viewpoints than racism or bigotry.
This is the irony - the tolerance advocates often resort to stereotyping or at a minimum a failure to appreciate opposing viewpoints as legitimate.

How so? I think the US should be an English speaking country, and I have no problem with latinos, at all. I have a problem with illegal immigrants, and people who move to a 200 year old country and try to change it.getting rid of a language is inherently racist, though. it serves no purpose other than people don't like to see spanish written under an english document.
get over it..... don't like it, don't do business with himThat doesn't. However, trying to do business with someone who doesn't speak English is a major pain. okay, I admit I am intolerant of racist redneck douchebags who have never stepped foot out of Alabama or across the mason dixon line. Sue me.

because a language is a part of a culture... all of a sudden you're telling these people they can't bring their culture to the business world...How so?
