This is what happens when you stick with bad Qbs—Guarantano part 2

That, for me, was one of the biggest disappointments yesterday. Outside of a couple of players, that defense had their manhood challenged and they folded. I'm sure they were deflated due to the no calls by the zebras, but you still have to fight. I'm being repetitive, but I did not like the body language from a lot of our defenders in that second half. It's easy to run from the front. Hope that's not all we are. Next Saturday will be very, very interesting.
The defense doesn't fumble the ball in front of their own end zone for a TD. Just sayin' y'all. We lost by 14, this one play was 7 of them.

Forget it. Move on. It's not Milton’s fault, receivers fault, Heupel's fault, people can't see it in front of their face. They refuse to see we have a headcase at QB that is as hot and cold as a water faucet.. I will say it's definitely on Heupel for playing him this year. We knew what he was and we didn't have to watch him for 3 years to figure it out..

I think that CJH knew he needed a bridge QB for this year so he could get Nico ready. He bet on getting enough out of Milton instead of trying the portal…the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t.

We should still get to 8-4 and get a decent bowl game. And that’s not a terrible bridge season.

We will see the offense change back to CJH’s normal offense next season if Nico is anywhere close to as-advertised.

I’m not the president of Milton’s fan club at all, but why do we just assume pulling Milton and putting Nico in right now would be any different?
We’re not assuming it would be better, but we know what we have now. May be pleasantly surprised, but won’t know until we try

Let me just say it's not Milton's fault...that they play two halves of football. It's not Milton's fault that the HC doesn't trust him based upon his play this year.

Agreed. Its also not his fault the defense gave up so many points in the second half.

Milton no doubt needs to make some better decisions at times, but our receivers are not running crisp routes for the most as to what I see.
How can Milton throw a timing out when he’s not sure if the receivers are cutting to their spot or rounding off a route which allows a DB to be in position .
Just my humble observation

I’ve noticed a trend, Josh goes away from his attack offense in the second half of games. He relies to much on the run game and always calls run plays in the red zone.

Defense gave up more points last year and we won. That's not a good argument. Not the defenses fault the offense did not score in the second half.

The difference is that we averaged 46 points/game in 2022.

This season we are averaging 32, and we've scored 20 or less against 3/4 of our conference opponents so far.

Yet he didn’t run the ball while they were in the redzone early in the first half.. he gets too cute sometimes

I like Heupel but this is just stupid. We knew Milton would cost us games like this. He knew it. We knew it. Everyone knew it. The inability to score even a point in the 2nd half is on QB1.

Real annoyed.
You clearly know zero about football. Look at his stats and show me where it's his fault. I'll wait.

LOL man that was a blind side hit that most QB's would've coughed up and don't give me that Milton held the ball too long because it wasn't that long
You making it sound like Joe took off running and just fumbled the ball all willy nilly. Funny we forgot Hooker was a fumble machine too

it works both ways. We didn’t have the same offense as we did last yeah either to score that many points. Both sides have to perform. Both didn’t in the second half.

My point was the defense only gave up 7 in the first half and gave up 27 in the second so they are at fault too. Can’t blame Milton for that half of the team.

If you think Milton was the problem, then you just want him to fail.

If you think Nico starting this game would've made a difference, then you are drinking too much of the Kool-Aid. Same for people who also say "wHaT aBoUt GaStOn MoOrE oR nAvY sHuLeR??". Just a reminder: everyone was so damn sure that Dormady would fix the offense. Or Bailey. Or Shrout. Or Maurer. And we see how all of those turned out. But don't get it twisted: I believe Nico is going to be excellent when he takes over the reigns.

Playcalling took an unnecessary conservative turn in the 2nd half. We tried to force the run game when the pass game was being effective. We got a little too cute with some of the option plays. Milton played very well. So well in fact, that if we were told before the game what his statline was going to be, you would've asked "how bad did we beat Alabama?" The Anti-Milton crowd continuously move the line every week on what his production should be. Did he play a perfect game? No. But Milroe didn't play one for Alabama either. I think Milton played relatively mistake free. Not every QB is hall of fame level. But to compare Milton to Guarantano is such an extreme reach and just screams ignorance.

I've said this time and time again. Milton is not without his flaws. I agree that he can be slow on getting the pass out or getting the offense setup once the play is sent in. I agree that he should use his size a little more aggressively in the run game. I agree that he has some accuracy issues. But he gave us our best chance to win yesterday and would have if it weren't for a combination of horrific officiating and inefficient playcalling in the 2nd half.

Milton has played poorly in other games where he was the primary reason for us losing the game, but yesterday was not one of those games. Last year spoiled us and we quickly forget that we lost two WRs, two OL, and a Heisman level QB to the NFL on the offensive side of the ball. That is a lot of talent & leadership lost right there.

I gave you a like for what you say..... BUT his play calling is influenced by the ability (or lack thereof) of his QB....
The play calling in the first quarter and last drive of the 2nd worked great. It was all the complacent, praying to hold on playcalling in between that was exactly like the 2014 Florida game that messed it up.

Milton is a better runner than Guarantano was and has a better arm.

Heupel and the coaching staff cost us the game yesterday.

The playcalling contributed to that as much as anything..Why do a 180 and start calling runs up the middle into the teeth of the defense....It made no sense..
And do it over and over and over and over and while you’re at it, sprinkle in a side pass behind the line just to get blow the F up. That stupid hot potato option Milton ran that was a disaster from the start? Wtf was that ??? Just a complete bed shat second half by the coaching staff.
