Well if thats the case he won't play next year either, because imo our ol will not be as good next year as this year. Milton mostly has plenty of time to throw, and until Sat our rushing game has been very good, and you do not have a good rushing game without a good ol. Saban sold out to stop the run, and force us to beat them in the air, which we could not do. But for some unknown reason Hype changed the offensive play calling in the 2nd half in both offense and defense, very few blitzes, in 2nd half, and very conservative in the play calling, even after Milton had a pretty good 1st half. That OL is the reason Nico isnt playing by now
That’s silly. They’re only two of the best QBs not named Manning to play for us. They were both light years better than Milton. Ainge would start on any SEC team this year, and mist years. Not taking anything away from either of them but in that era of the SEC Tenn and Fla were the only real dominate teams. If they came into the league today neither would be starting IMO.
As a freshman? He was all world right?
You made a stupid post; I proved the stupidity of it; so then your response is to type nonsense that has nothing to do with your claim. You win the dumb games for today, and welcome to the list.Educate myself haha how bout ya join the coaching staff since ya know what the coaches know… I’m 48 years old been a fan of Tennessee football since 1985, I’ve seen it also but I think I’ll trust the coach on this one instead of listening to you..
Yeah the East was so weak that UGA was only ranked #3 in the country when we beat them in Athens with Ainge under center as a true freshman. Either you’re twenty years old and talking out of your a-s, or you’re choosing to make stuff up.That was 20+ years ago. The league is a lot deeper than it was then. Clausen hit his ceiling by his sophomore year and Ainge never really played to the level he was capable of reaching (though he was very good). They were both also developed physically.
That East was nowhere near as tough as it is today. Those two you mentioned were already physically developed enough to step in and play. Nico needs to develop more so he doesn’t get hurt.
Ainge as a sophomore and junior would start on most SEC teams this year but he would not start as a freshman on most of the teams this year. The SEC today is a different league than when he was a freshman. That’s silly. They’re only two of the best QBs not named Manning to play for us. They were both light years better than Milton. Ainge would start on any SEC team this year, and mist
Exactly. My son and I were talking about that last night. Milton doesn’t have what it takes between the ears to effectively and efficiently run this offense like Hooker did.Every play is sent in with options. It's the quarterbacks job to read the defense and choose which option will be best. I don't think play calling is the issue. Either the O line isn't completing assignments or, the quarterback is choosing the wrong option. Or Thornton is still dropping passes
Yes. Usually when they have great talent around them. Like Bama and UGA. Sometimes LSU and TENN in years past. Most of those teams are loaded with talent either at OL and skill positionsMaybe Nico is ready, maybe not.
But that statement you made is IGNORANT. Many True or Rsfreshman have started in the SEC

you’re trying to hard, calm down sparky it’s not that serious… you win the trying to hard to win the internet today…You made a stupid post; I proved the stupidity of it; so then your response is to type nonsense that has nothing to do with your claim. He did throw to spots..our receivers were held and our super smart perfect football knowledgable fans blame Joe for a bad pass.Milton no doubt needs to make some better decisions at times, but our receivers are not running crisp routes for the most as to what I see.
How can Milton throw a timing out when he’s not sure if the receivers are cutting to their spot or rounding off a route which allows a DB to be in position .
Just my humble observation
Warren the 6'6 TE with 3 Ft arms and 1/2in vertical that couldn't reach a ball thrown 1 inch over his arm where the SHORTER DEFENDER could not reach...Fant makes that catch, hell I bet even the 2 freshman make the catch or ay least a better effortWarren was wide open in the end zone in the first half and Milton overthrew him.
I've heard several folks say that Milton was just great in practice and that's why he got the nod over Hooker. It's just different when bullets start flying vs being in a green jersey and you know you're not gonna get hit. All a coach can do is make his best assessment based on what these guys look like in practice. Some said the same about Dobbs. Seems he wasn't a great practice guy but when the lights came on he was a baller. I can't blame him for choosing Milton over Hooker. Hey, he's not the first coach to fall in love with Milton the practice QB. Happens. He did Hooker his first season - Thought Milton was better and kept Hooker on the bench
