We been lining up that way for 3 years with success on short yardage would be my guess. South Carolina asked why Rattler went under center in our game. He’s a big boy too!! As far as the play calling in the 2 nd half tell us what you would call when we spent almost the whole 3rd qt backed up inside our 20? What’s really funny is the people on here want to know why we didn’t make adjustments at half when we were kicking the **** out of them. One of our tackles was hurt and he was getting beat and when he finally came out it got worse. It’s also hard to move the ball when you get behind the sticks which we did mostly with penalties especially the second half.Ok I tend to agree to a point. The first half Milton, played pretty good, and then the second half it was as though Hype tried to sit on the lead, and then monmentum changed with the start of the 3rd qtr, when Bama scored on the first possession, however there was a bad bad hold on the td pass by Bama that wasn't called thus the huge momentum shift. You can't sit on a lead and play conservativeagainst a good team. Also I fail to understand why when it is 4th and short you line up in shotgun formation.
I expect that those drives are scripted or nearly so. Gives a QB (like Milt) time to go over them with staff and have his mind ready for the options each of those plays allow. Have you ever noticed when the script calls for a change from the expected due to unexpected situations in these two time frames? Many times the play calling does not work with much effectiveness. The play calling in the first quarter and last drive of the 2nd worked great. It was all the complacent, praying to hold on playcalling in between that was exactly like the 2014 Florida game that messed it up.
It was more on our Oline and our inability to run the ball. Don’t blame Milton at all for the loss Saturday. Dude was great in the first half and was our only rushing attack in the second. Between not being able to run, phantom holding calls, no defense holds/PIs on plays where it was obvious, and drops, every time we had any momentum offensively in the second half, we either got screwed or screwed ourselves. We scored zero points in the 2nd half. There’s a problem with our team at Qb.
You don't script a whole half of football. Maybe the first drive or two if the first drive is quick scoring. By now the whole playbook should be installed in week 8. However what we are not seeing much is variations. We will get back to that but we need better OL and yeah I agree Milton will never be able to run the offense like Hooker. He is serviceable but he needs help from teammates and coaches. Joe looked more than capable in the 1st half. The 2nd the whole team looked lost as well as the staff. I expect Nico to play alot against UConn and Vandy other than Injust Milton is the guy for this year.I expect that those drives are scripted or nearly so. I'm not reading 9 pages of back and forth on this topic, the title and original post are enough. Poster should give him/herself a temporary ban from posting. Clearly didn't watch the game or maybe didn't comprehend it. Blame the game on alotta things, QB play isn't one you can blame it on. Move on
Milton was 28/41 68.3% with 2 TDS and 59 yds rushing. His performance in 2nd half was hampered by play calling and lack of intensity by whole team. He played well enough to win.I like Heupel but this is just stupid. We knew Milton would cost us games like this. He knew it. We knew it. Everyone knew it. The inability to score even a point in the 2nd half is on QB1.
Real annoyed.
Joe and JG are the same. Saturday's game was just another stat sheet stuffer for the QB while TN looses another game from not scoring in the second half. If you could go back and see JG posts from 4 years ago you would see the same as Milton. You can't blame JG because he had 200+ yards passing, maybe two TD'S and yet TN lost because he was a bad game time QB. Joe is the same way. He got his stats Saturday in the first half and played well. He just didn't show up in the second half and the coach would not turn the offense over to him because they do not trust him.Correct. Joe and JG aren't even in the same building. After Dobbs and Hooker, Milton is probably the best QB we've had in the last ten years (unless I'm missing someone).
You and the OP both need to purchase a board game. It's called CLUEJoe and JG are the same. The Pro scouts were there.......Milton is dead to the NFL. He might get drafted at the end for a practice squad.I like Heupel but this is just stupid. We knew Milton would cost us games like this. Milton threw for 96 and rushed for 49 in the second half, not counting sacks. Not world beating, but not nothing either. Maybe you should blame the RBs and OL for not producing. Zero excuse for Milton to outrush 3 guys combined.Joe and JG are the same. But, but, he got stats! Just like JG did when he was here! Don't they base which teams get into the playoff just on stats?i think it is a little of both. You can't get inside the 5 yard line 1st and goal and come away with 3 points twice. That isn't going to cut it against any SEC team. If we do that against UK we will lose that game as well.
So CJH trusted him the 1st half and opened up the play book. Then in the 2nd couldn't trust him,???Joe and JG are the same. This profoundly one of the most ignorant threads and not reflective of Joe's performance. I understand the knee jerk reaction during a loss, but this is a classic troll post.I like Heupel but this is just stupid. We knew Milton would cost us games like this. He knew it. We knew it.
