Not sure what article you read, but there is nothing in that article that makes any mention of him not considering Tennessee moving forward.

Tell me what part of that article said he was entertaining UT moving forward.

He's not sure about Beard, was very attached to Azzani, and wants to visit of big time schools.

I know he's a kid and can come around, but the way it read, I took it to mean that UT is off the table.

My bad if I read it wrong.

Maybe the part of his decommitment quote that says, "Tennessee will still remain one of my top schools through this recruitment process. . ."

That wasn't in the story I linked. I didn't look at what he put on Twitter. Glad he says UT isn't out of it.

Sounds like he hasn't had a chance to talk to Beard much.

From the 247 article:

Scurry has had a chance to talk to new wide receivers coach Kevin Beard but due to limited contact rules with underclassmen, their interactions have been restricted.

"The coach now, he's a good guy. He really knows what he's talking about but he's just different and Coach Azzanni was the guy that I thought was going to be my coach. "

We are, without question, the favorites to land him. If we still had coach Z, Scurry would still be looking around. He didn't anticipate the opportunities he'd have and he's trying to navigate his way through it with an open mind and doing his best to be sure he doesn't look back with regrets. As everyone should want.

Ok, he's gone, get over it. Maybe if your good enough in college, you'll be drafted by the Bears and could play for him there. If he's still the WR coach for them in 5-6 years.

You never commit to a coach, you commit to a school. It's not the University of Azzani.

Jennings was never a legit QB option, and Byrd hasn't played any defense at UT. He was a stud both ways

Jennings played QB in the spring game. Byrd was recruited by Scott. The point is, Z recruited neither to be WRs at Tennessee. Jennings was considered a S prospect by some, he never played WR. Zs recruiting was weak. The class we are bringing in this year is ok, at best. The best we have on the roster weren't WR recruits. Not much of a loss.

Sucks to lose this guy. Hopefully we can get him back in the fold. Two years is a long time, but recruiting never stops and coaches need to keep after him.

The majority of top prospects in this day and age commit to a coach instead of a school. That's just what recruiting has become in this day and age. As for Azzani, I wasn't much of a fan of his either, but I also expect the Beard experiment to probably be a one and done thing as well.

Really???

Not in favor of Beard that much, or do you believe Beard has that much upward mobility?

I'd be willing to bet he's hearing the "Butch Jones will be fired after this season" jargon from opposing coaches.
