I think Andrew Luck will end up taking the top spot within the next 5 years.

This was a guy who had a serious drug issue who fought threw it to become the best of all time, by the stats. Had he had a better offensive line, he'd have even better stats. In all his years in Green Bay, he had linemen selected to the Pro Bowl 5 times, and 3 of those were Marco Rivera. To do what he did without ever having an elite offensive lineman, and to stay healthy for so long, is what makes him one of the greatest of all time.

He was sacked 525 times. Peyton has been sacked 270 times. The Offensive Line makes a HUGE impact.

One of his sacks was when he laid down so Strahan could break the single season sack record. The Dallas offensive line all went to the Pro-Bowl at the height of Favre's greatness so that may have impacted their selections. I loved watching him play. One of the greatest arms ever.

What if we add college to the argument and also take into consideration other pro leagues(USFL, CFL). Who is then the best?

im only 23 so ive only really been able to watch guys since about 2000. in my short lifetime and only including the guys ive seen i have it like this...

1. manning/brady ( manning takes sole possesion of tops if he wins another) i think manning is a superior passer but brady is a pure winner with three rings.
2. favre- my fav qb of all time. numbers and a ring back it up. more fun to watch than any other qb and loved the game unlike anyone ive ever seen
3. warner
4. brees
5. rodgers

Did everyone notice how much easier it seemed to be for Peyton to have a great performance in a big game yesterday when he, oh by the way, just happened to be playing on what was clearly the better TEAM? And did everyone else notice how Brady, while clearly showing signs of being the great QB he is, struggled and was unable to get the win on a day when he, oh by the way, just happened to be playing on what was clearly NOT the better TEAM?

It's what I've always said: you can talk about wins and championships, but it's a TEAM game. TEAMs win championships. Brady is still a great QB, despite yesterday's loss. Peyton was a great QB before yesterday's big win. Rings are given waaay too much weight when people get going on the GOAT arguments.

I really hate the he only has one ring so hes not great arguement...Lets use this in basketball...Robert Horey is a better basketball player than Michael Jordan because guess what...he has more rings than jordan

Just one of many factors, but nevertheless, a factor.
