Are you at least 30 years old? President George H.W. Bush didn't pull the nomination of Clarence Thomas in September of 1991? The Anita Hill hearings lasted for 10 days, and involved much more specific and serious allegations than anything that Brett Kavanaugh faced. Clarence Thomas famously called those hearings a "high-tech lynching."

Clarence Thomas was eventually confirmed, however, and he still sits on the bench 30 years later. Once every ten years or so, Justice Thomas will even bother to stay awake long enough to ask a question of an attorney arguing a case before him. Great pick!

If he had only sent 50k troops to Tehran, we would have avoided everything that came after and "won" against the militant Muslims right then and there.

That's not what I said. JC was a feeble weakling when it came to FP, the way he handled the hostage crisis proved it and emboldened Islamic militants to continue striking us. I agree that Reagan bungled the Beirut barracks bombing as a follow up further emboldening these groups, the trend continued through Bush 1 and Clinton.

When a vicious dog bites you you don't give it a treat you put it down.

He made some foreign policy blunders, but laying our ME problems at his feet is senseless. The problems were initiated decades before his 4 years in office and exacerbated the decades after. He's a scapegoat.

I disagree with your premise. If people were more dedicated to voting for the person with better character, we would get candidates with better character.
As long as people's overriding criteria is "what can they do for my wallet in the short run", we will get more of what we've been getting.

And my point is that applies to both sides.

Both sides are voting for their version of crap, which does enrich them.

I can not think of any president in my adult life that has actually taken an action that addresses any of our serious issues. There have been attempts, but no success.

Bernie is a weasel, but I will give him one thing. He actually owns up to being a socialist instead of prevaricating and pretending he isn’t, like most leftist Democrats. Wish the rest would just come out and „fess up“ like Bernie instead of trying to fool the electorate.

Oh it's entirely accurate. No matter who you supported in the primary of the past 2 POTUS elections the Dems gave you the candidate. It was rigged and that has been proven. Knowing this you still cast your vote for the person the party served up to you. You are the type of voter they count on
