'19 TX WR Isaiah Neyor

We’re docking ourselves 10 scholarships this year due to the Pruitt violations. We don’t have room to take a lot of guys in the portal right now, and won’t until after spring ball when more guys transfer out.
Is this a known fact or something made up?

For the record, NIL is going to destroy College Athletics. In my opinion, it’s going to be so saturated with transfers, there is going to be no loyalty what so ever.

The NCAA is going to have to put a cap on this or it’s gonna get so MUCH worse.
The smart thing to have done was put stipulations on it before they ever rolled it out. It is always easier to let up than to try and reel something back in.

My problem is everybody blaming the coaches...I think this stuff is completely out of their hands, but they are the ones catching the 💩 for every failure to close.

You'd have to be a blind fool to not $ee what i$ going on with thi$ $tuff.

We know Texas could match any NIL number TN could throw out. Couple that with the home state pull and TN was not going to win this one. Its gonna be ok.

Do you honestly think they don't? That the portal is just too much for them to wrap their heads around? Do you know how many spots they even have? Do you know who they are even considering? Do you know what they think about what they already have? Do you think that just maybe for once in 20 years we have a staff that trusts their abilities to actually develop whats on the roster?

Hurry up the train of NO's is leaving the station.
I think there is a very strong chance they don't have a coherent plan regarding the portal. Just because people are "in charge" doesn't mean they have master schemes and plans for everything. Coaches have deficiencies. They just hired the UNC guy because they very likely need help with the portal and want to improve upon that.

I may not know their inner details but we have 1 transfer while the rest of our opponents are filling important gaps with productive players. Our defense is bad. It's very bad. We need secondary and LB help in the worst ways

10 in one year? My gosh that seems excessive.
Yeah, but we’re hoping it’s enough to get us off the hook with the NCAA. We plan to go back to the full 85 in 2023. We’re not going to be a championship contender next year anyway, so if this is what it takes to get this mess behind us, it’s worth it IMO.

the only problem with this approach is that, because of covid rules, many other teams will be operating with MORE players than usual for the next few years. and we are choosing to stifle our roster in that same era.

I love the staff. I’ve not wanted anyone to win here more than Josh Heupel since Johnny Majors was hired.

Maybe it’s not their fault, but they’re going to shoulder the blame if things go south on their watch. Which I why I was saying they need to change their approach. If they can’t beat out Texas for Texas kids (for NIL, proximity, or whatever reasons), then don’t target them. Find kids that can play, that you can afford, and get them enrolled.

They did really well with that for ESD. They haven’t with the portal. But they still have the Spring, and there are going to be guys that they can sign. Go get ‘em, coach.

Everybody has to go back to 85 next year. Super seniors will count against the limit from this point forward.

One of the best offensive minds in the country can't wrap his head around free agency? Id say thats pretty far-fetched. I seem to remember last year almost all our impact transfers came closer to spring camp. There are 1000s of players in the portal right now and Billy High is definitely here to help comb through it but Heupel is dealing with self imposed sh!t. To say he doesn't know whats going on though is ridiculous.

Lookie there...me and you on the same side for once..🤷‍♂️

Do you honestly think our coaches have had a cogent, successful portal plan? My God, they are not beyond reproach. Teams are filling up holes left and right and we have 1 person currently.

NegaVols gonna keep on NegaVolling.

Recruiting Forum Football Talk III
They are just trying damage control from the feckless administration

Recruiting Forum Football Talk III
Yep. All of the Heupel talk came all at once. They narrowed it to one person. We’ve hired the dunce. Unbelievable
Recruiting Forum Football Talk III
Everyone has coalesced around Heupel. AP/Hubbs/Hank/BobVols. It’s over. UT with the classic dumb ****ing move. We have the lousiest administration I’ve ever seen. Botched this in the worst way possible.
Recruiting Forum Football Talk III
He literally took over the program that Frost built and and is devolving right in front of him. You think anyone at UCF is upset by this? Lousy ****ing start to DWs tenure here. Can’t believe we spent 2 million on an AD to hire Josh ****ing Heupel
'21 Recruiting Forum: Official Pittsburgh Pregame/Game Thread
Embarrassing look for Heupel here. Team is undisciplined as hell. Defense getting ****ing shredded and his vaunted offense can’t work because his starting QB blows

I'm not sure what to make of Milton and Gabriel's comments about Heupel. Really doesn't seem to be love lost
  2. Recruiting Forum Football Talk III
C'mon DW. Heupel is not "juice" and "swagger"
  3. Recruiting Forum Football Talk III
Don't think he will. Not a huge personality guy

Meh on Neyor. How many TX recruits have ever worked out for Tennessee. Numbers aren't good.

This really can’t be emphasized enough. It’s baffling that nobody from that state has ever panned out well for Tennessee but it’s true.

To think this came down to Sark vs Heupel is VERY naive, this came down to NIL and being close to Mom and Pop

Like I’ve said, either choice is a good one for him from a pure football fit, but when you add proximity, and likely NIL opportunities, that tips the scales.

I agree it is going to change the status quo quite a bit, but the status quo for the last 13 years has absolutely sucked and I’m hoping that something blows it up. If Saban and Kirby are both against it then it can’t be all bad.

So let’s just make assumptions, considering no one has a clue about how many we can actually take.

My frustration is with posts on here with people forming opinions with very little information.
