'19 TX WR Isaiah Neyor

Getting worked up for nothing.

Are you new here? We lost a recruit. Heupel sucks. Danny White sucks. We aren’t gonna win 5 games. We are Vandy. This staff sucks. Blah, blah, blah. It’s hilarious to see some people getting all worked up over this. Would he have been a good addition? Yes. A program dooming loss? Not even close.

Now we get to see the negadolts go on and on wallowing in their nega pens.

Bout 10 pages late...

But "meh" this offense hardly even needs talent.

Just go get the raw talent and put it on defense. The offense will be just fine.

I'll also now add my true opinion of his film (not that I'm anything but an absolute amateur and these coaches wanting him means a ton more, but alas)...

He looked like a skinny fawn that was still learning how to walk. He looked pretty unagile and goofy. He put up stats in the G5...not sure if he doesn't get bullied in the SEC.

Not sour grapes, just finally free to shed that opinion I've had from the start without getting hammered. Just my .02.

He's guessing and you're doing the same.

He has no more clue than you do.

Man, what are you talking about?

We know we have 2 spots. One for the Florida tackle and one for (as of a couple of hours ago) Neyor.

It’s very likely that we have 3 spots, as we have been recruiting other transfer players since Neyor committed, and we’ve also hosted Moten, which would imply that we would sign him if he chose us. Now, I don’t know this, but honestly, it’s way more likely than not, based on the things we do know.

We may have 4 spots, as we were recruiting Neyor, Moten, and Verse simultaneously, but I wouldn’t be confident saying this for sure. So 3 is as far as I am willing to go.

So unless you want to get into a pholosophical debate about the limits of epistemological certainty, I think it’s reasonable to say we have at least 3 spots, with one spot already taken.

For the record, NIL is going to destroy College Athletics. In my opinion, it’s going to be so saturated with transfers, there is going to be no loyalty what so ever.

The NCAA is going to have to put a cap on this or it’s gonna get so MUCH worse.
Some of us said this when people started talking about how great this going to be for the athletes. Might be great for a few of them financially but definitely going to ruin college football. Look what happened in one season, and I can’t imagine how bad it will be after spring practice.
There will be at least 20 WRs better than him. Maybe we can get one when other teams fill up.

Him committing out of the blue without visiting was fishy in the first place.

It sucks, but we got beat by a home state school and family who wanted him close to home. Sark also has great offenses and past receivers to sell too. I’m sure a good NIL deal is part of it too. What else could we have done?

And we don’t have traction in the portal because we have had to be super picky due to numbers. I know most don’t want to hear it, but Pruitt, Fulmer, and the administration has neutered our roster/portal ability due to self imposed scholarship reductions.
Absolutely! Put zero confidence in a verbal from a guy that has never set foot on campus.
And only about 20% from guys that have been here half a dozen times.

I don’t think the NCAA, as it is presently constructed, has the power to stop what is happening. They are a powerless, useless organization at this point.
The only way to regulate the NIL and transfer portal free-for-all will be to abandon the fake “amateurism” altogether and have the players negotiate and sign contracts with their chosen school, the same as is done with coaches. That’s also the only way to prevent kids who are going pro from sitting out bowls.

I think there is a very strong chance they don't have a coherent plan regarding the portal. Just because people are "in charge" doesn't mean they have master schemes and plans for everything. Coaches have deficiencies. They just hired the UNC guy because they very likely need help with the portal and want to improve upon that.

I may not know their inner details but we have 1 transfer while the rest of our opponents are filling important gaps with productive players. Our defense is bad. It's very bad. We need secondary and LB help in the worst ways

So is the portal closing soon or something?

The smart thing to have done was put stipulations on it before they ever rolled it out. It is always easier to let up than to try and reel something back in.
Wasn't really up tp them. If it were up to the NCAA (the universities) they'd never have allowed any of it and protected the facade of amateurism till the end.

SCOTUS decided for them and pointed out that ANY restrictions on one's ability to go earn freely of their own volition would bring plenty of scrutiny.

Now, is there a route to cap this if it's shown not to be true free enterprise and just a system for buying players? I'm no attorney or judge...but I'd be interested to hear such opinions on if that's even remotely possible.

And then you have Title IX. They would probably split away before that happens, otherwise universities are "employing" hundreds and hundreds of SAs just to "employ" the revenue-earning folks. I've read in-depth legal papers arguing how tough that would be to work out. But who knows.

We have as many spots as we need. If you go back and read the edit, players are asked to leave programs to make room every year. Whether it's disguised as a medical reason or just asked to transfer.

But we weren't discussing how many spots, you were claiming how they didn't have a recruiting board because AP said so.

Bitch and moan away then...don't see how this fanbase going toxic over this years recruiting helps a damn thing..but you do you since it makes you feel better to believe Heupel sucks at his job.
Calm down man. And stop putting words in my mouth. Literally posted how everyone should be thrilled with this staff and the season and how fun it was yesterday. It’s ok to criticize the staff when you see some faults. Obviously they have a lot more going for them overall and we all should be happy. But it’s not wrong to say recruiting is sub par so far. Can they turn it around? We shall see and I hope so. But stop putting words in my mouth and others.

This. The NCAA will not exist in five years. At least when it comes to football.
You can rename it...reform it. It will be the same beast it always has been. It will be the universities and, namely, the presidents, overseeing their association of member universities.

Looking out for their interests, minimizing player equity and movement, whenever and for however long is possible. I do think the tides are turning against the universities in favor of the value-producers though, I certainly agree.

Quote the post where I’ve said anything about us not having a recruiting board.

VolGee said we didn’t know how many spots we had. I said we had at least 3. You said I was FOS. That’s the extent of this conversation.

yet, UT wants to take a scholarship reduction and bow down to the NCAA
Have to realize there will always be a body for governance. Now it is the NCAA. Maybe in the future it is called the P5AA or the SECAA. The only difference will be your board and infractions committees will no longer be full of G5 presidents, ADs, faculty...now you'll have a higher share of your rivals...bammers, dawgs, gators deciding your fate.

Now is much better than later. I don't want our punishment to be decided by our rivals once the P5/Autonomous 5 has its own governing body, if not some SEC-lead consolidation.
