'19 TX WR Isaiah Neyor

I think there is a very strong chance they don't have a coherent plan regarding the portal. Just because people are "in charge" doesn't mean they have master schemes and plans for everything. Coaches have deficiencies. They just hired the UNC guy because they very likely need help with the portal and want to improve upon that.

I may not know their inner details but we have 1 transfer while the rest of our opponents are filling important gaps with productive players. Our defense is bad. It's very bad. We need secondary and LB help in the worst ways
Numbers.

So let’s just make assumptions, considering no one has a clue about how many we can actually take.

My frustration is with posts on here with people forming opinions with very little information.

As of now, it must be at least 3, right? We’ve been told we had a spot for Verse and a spot for Neyor, and the tackle from Florida makes 3.

Looking like a ten scholarship penalty this year.

This. The NCAA will not exist in five years. At least when it comes to football.

Their primary function will be to schedule a basketball tournament in March.

Texas a 2 studs about to take over. Quinn is sick just unproven… now Murphy is the next Vince young.. just raw

Murphy looks like a project, but does have a high ceiling.

One of the best offensive minds in the country can't wrap his head around free agency? Id say thats pretty far-fetched. I seem to remember last year almost all our impact transfers came closer to spring camp. There are 1000s of players in the portal right now and Billy High is definitely here to help comb through it but Heupel is dealing with self imposed sh!t. To say he doesn't know whats going on though is ridiculous.
Being smart with offensive scheming has nothing to do with program management, roster construction, or navigating an entirely brand new process which the portal has become.

I like Heupel. He's obviously very gifted when it comes to offensive football. He turned our sputtering offense into a high-powered machine with minimal roster change. He's embraced UT and our traditions. It's not sacrilegious to give feedback/question decisions on a message board. All coaches have pros and cons.

I'm thrilled with the hire of High. To me, that's Heupel hiring in an area where he probably needs more guidance and assistance.

NegaVols gonna keep on NegaVolling.

They are just trying damage control from the feckless administration

Yep. All of the Heupel talk came all at once. They narrowed it to one person. We’ve hired the dunce. Unbelievable

Everyone has coalesced around Heupel. AP/Hubbs/Hank/BobVols. It’s over. UT with the classic dumb ****ing move. We have the lousiest administration I’ve ever seen. Botched this in the worst way possible.

He literally took over the program that Frost built and and is devolving right in front of him. You think anyone at UCF is upset by this? Lousy ****ing start to DWs tenure here. Can’t believe we spent 2 million on an AD to hire Josh ****ing Heupel

Embarrassing look for Heupel here. Team is undisciplined as hell. Defense getting ****ing shredded and his vaunted offense can’t work because his starting QB blows

I'm not sure what to make of Milton and Gabriel's comments about Heupel. Really doesn't seem to be love lost

C'mon DW. Heupel is not "juice" and "swagger"

Don't think he will. Not a huge personality guy

He's just a big ol' ray of sunshine.

Tells me all I need to know about him.

He's a good player. It's a big loss. No excuses, our coaching staff has to be better. We have now one portal player taken and have plenty of holes to fill. They are flubbing the portal big time and really seems like they have no plan
He seems to be a good player but not a big loss based on the position he plays…. It doesn’t sound like we have very many spots we can fill….. we missed on two guys that we know they pursued…. Verse and Neyor…. I will wait to see who we end up with before deciding if they were successful or not.#Godsplan

You still don't know, you're assuming.

Additions can be made through subtraction. Players are asked or made to leave programs every year to make room on rosters.

No idea. Even though our offer to Neyor went out before Verse decided, he committed after Verse had decided.

I think AP said the staff had a spot open for both of them, if I’m not mistaken. We may have 4, because they’re allegedly saving a spot for Moten.

Either way, even if it’s just Neyor’s spot, we definitely aren’t full. I would like to see us get as many as possible to go through spring practice.

Well, I’m going off what AP has said. He might be wrong, but I wouldn’t say I’m just guessing.

You like Heupel? The fact that statement contradicts everything you've said since he was hired says otherwise.

You're just here for the attention.

He's guessing and you're doing the same.

He has no more clue than you do.

Edit - there are 10 coaches on staff, none are what I would call inexperienced, and some have prior SEC experience.

Do you seriously think not one said " Hey...I've got an idea. Let's make a Recruiting board and prioritize who we want to go after. So it will be easier to keep track of players and stuff."

yet, UT wants to take a scholarship reduction and bow down to the NCAA

Scholarship reduction doesn’t have anything to do with bowing to ncaa. We had to do something heck we handed them a laundry list of major violations. Bowl ban would have been bowing to them. We were going to have low scholarship numbers anyway. The biggest issue is managing rosters with super seniors that now count when they didn’t last year. We have 13 early enrollees which is very rare to have more than half your class enroll early. It’s the risk you take but it’s a good one as you take the early enrollees HS kid all day as priority for your future. There will be more players available this spring when we have more attrition. Most of our kids last year were after spring transfers. We may be happy we have spots later on when Harbaugh gets snatched up and a dominoe effect of more coaching changes happens again.

What I am more concerned about is the feeling that we are handcuffing ourselves on purpose in NIL with our boosters and admin worried to cross certain lines until the binoculars are off the program

Jmo but I would rather do a bowl ban than lose scholarships

Yes I am so attention starved that I am posting on message boards to seek and crave attention.

I’ll be the first to admit I was not thrilled with the Heupel hire. Along with a large portion of our fan base. He’s had a very good first year and had exceeded most fans’ expectations.

He does have faults and reasons to believe he may not have the success that we as fans want. That’s not controversial. Most people viewed him as a 5 year guy to build stability as a floor.

He’s an excellent offensive coach. One of the best in the country. He’s gotta prove he can field good defenses and recruit at a higher level for us to win any kind of championship. He’s gotta improve some in game coaching decisions as well.

This isn’t saying he can’t accomplish these things. But those are the areas he is going to have to grow and improve
