'19 TX WR Isaiah Neyor

I don't know. Is lack of money the same as lack of a master plan?

Lack of money has not always been the problem, but lack of plan seems like a constant. Since many prominent supporters seem to have taken their balls and gone home in disgust due to lack of plan, lack of money may now be an issue too.

From what I understand about the court ruling, and the fact that it’s “conducted by 3rd parties,” I don’t think the NCAA can do anything to limit it outside of policing direct involvement by the university.

That’s a good point and that may very well be true. I particularly dont like it cause it doesn’t teach these young men the life lesson regarding patience, loyalty, hard work or work ethic. It says “when the tough get going, transfer”. That sets a horrible precedent for life in the future.

Just think it’s going to do A LOT more bad than good.

People need to realize that Oklahoma and the Texas schools are going to buy the best players in the future including kids Alabama and Georgia want. They will have the resources to buy SWC and NCAA Championships.

I think Oklahoma traded away future success for some SEC $$$$. I would not be surprised if they are never better than 3rd in the SEC West.

I really think the only things the NCAA can legally control are institutional involvement, and maybe bring back the mandatory sit-a-year rule for ALL transfers, except graduates. I don’t see any way they could ever cap the money with the way it’s supposed to be set up.

I consider it a big loss and missed opportunity but I’m not interested in tricking players who don’t really want to be here. Seeing references to our later date for classes starting as a culprit?
How does that make a difference though? If a player doesn’t want to be here then they don’t want to be here, having a later start time to the spring semester shouldn’t be considered a detriment in wanting to lock kids into coming here now they will just transfer again

I think you got my point but don’t realize it.

Oh no I got your point I was agreeing with, but I’m not at the point of calling it a big loss until the transfer portal for this year is over. This staff will find another one
It’s a loss…even if we net a similar talent. Derric Evans (through his own actions) was a loss back in the day…we ended up with Dale Carter. There is lots of talent that is unsatisfied where it’s at.

It’s not a loss if we never had him and can find another but I see your point too

I was really surprised that Neyor committed so quickly in the first place. A Texas kid who grew up in Texas and always wanted to play in Texas, it seemed sure that he would look for a school in Texas. I'm disappointed that he isn't coming to the real UT, but this isn't a serious blow to next year's roster. I just don't believe that NIL or the late start of the semester was that big of a factor. That's just excuse making in my opinion. Right now, the Texas program is a s***show, and I would be very cautious about going there. Baylor would have been a much better option.
