It's not that we didn't get this particular guy. It's the fact that we are striking out on absolutely everyone (so far). We have tons of holes that need to be filled on defense and it appears they aren't even trying to get defensive guys out of the portal.

Not a lot of difference.makers in the portal on defense.

The HS guys we signed have just as much as making an impact.

Year 2 in the defense, along with the offense perhaps being tweaked a bit to use up clock should improve the defense overall.

But to your other point, yeah we need to do better in the portal overall.

We're not playing with the big boys when ot comes to NIL. Players that are looking at a huge payday are not coming to UT. Get used to it. Not 100% sure that was the deciding factor here but it will be a major factor with all the big time, highly rated players. UT thinks they cam win without them. We'll see if that strategy pays off.

I completely agree with this. With NIL we are going to strikeout sometimes. But just because you strikeout doesn’t mean you should just take whoever. Great points.

Staff is being very selective and that is a good thing and very different from the previous staffs practices.
