UNC and Duke Basketball, 2015-16

Call me crazy, but this team is reminding me of '09 more and more everyday. I don't think they're quite on the same level, which is the reason they stand to lose, but they have just straight jacked people up this entire postseason, going all the way back to the ACC tournament. The closest game for us of the NCAA thus far was this Elite 8, and we won that by 14. Granted, the stars have largely aligned for us, but, let's face it: just about every team that ever wins a national title has to have some breaks work in their favor.

As long as this team can keep shooting as well as it has and, most importantly, keep playing defense as well as it has, they have a better shot than any opponent they will face.

The one-and-done nature of the NCAA tournament dictates that that does not necessarily matter (Syracuse in the Final Four is all the proof you need for that), but percentages dictate that we probably stand a better chance than most, and from where I sit, I like those odds.

Yeah Volprof...definitely a little luck involved, but UNC is easily the best team in the nation imo when they hit shots. They deserve it. Even though I'd be disappointed to see a rival win it.

I've got "people" within the Duke program (because I'm a big deal like that) that are telling me that Derryck Thornton is going to transfer. He's being guided to do so by his "handlers" or crew. Unbelievable.

I was hoping that was just a rumor. He would be a big loss.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer of this thread, but I wanted to make mention of former Duke AD Tom Butters passing today. He was a neighbor and a friend and responsible for the great success of Duke Athletics. He is responsible for hiring K and Steve Spurrier. Has there ever been a better combo on a campus than K and Spurrier?

Whoever advances to play Villanova Monday night better bring their A game. Oklahoma's only highlight tonight was the hot volleyball chick that helped sing the National Anthem.

I love how it's cool when a UNC player is demonstrative and emotional, but when somebody else is they are a douche or not classy.

You can play passionate without tripping players

You guys are very good while being hypocritical. I've never seen a fan base better at playing the victim than Carolina. It's absolutely ****ing comical.

Lol chill. I may be different as guys showing emotion never bothers me. No matter the jersey.

Even before he tripped someone he was already hated for the passion and emotion he displayed in the semi-final and national championship game last year. He had played his heart out in two games and ppl already hated him bc he was passionate and emotional before he had ever done anything wrong. Keep in mind the first trip didn't come til midway thru the season and ppl already thought he was a douche before then just for being passionate, emotional, and good.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to Monday. I think the two best teams in CBB this year made it to the 'ship and I don't think there is any denying that. These two teams didn't get lucky and get this far, they were by far head and shoulders above the rest of the teams. I think it'll be a pretty even matchup as well as a high-scoring, fast paced game and overall just good quality basketball - something CBB has sorely missed this year. These two teams have everything you'd want for a great championship game.

If America wanted a crap national final, then Syracuse should have won. Nova is shooting better than anyone else, and, at the rate they're shooting, you aren't going to outshoot them.

The only way is in the post and through rebounding, which is UNC's game. If America wanted to see Oklahoma get its rear beat senseless again, then Syracuse should have won. As it stands, America is going to get a good final.

But, the question remains, and some of you are going to hate me, because I harp on it so much, but what is going to win: three point shooting or traditional skilled basketball?

This will most likely be a game more similar to Nova v. Kansas. It should be a good one.

I like UNC's chances, most notably because I think it unlikely that Nova will shoot as well against us as against Okie. Nonetheless, UNC will have to shoot better against Nova than it did against Cuse, no matter how the rebounds split.

I don't have a problem with passion or emotion. I don't care for trash talking and I don't care for the strutting around and showboating that we see from time to time. Just play the game.

Fairly or unfairly (probably unfairly :) ) he gets that because of the name on the front of the jersey.

Grayson Allen wouldn't even be on my radar without the tripping antics and I love to hate on Duke players. The goofiest guy on that team this year was Plumlee, but I couldn't bring myself to hate on a guy that's heading into our military to serve our country.

So let's say UNC wins tomorrow, that gives Huckleberry 3 titles, which I believe is one more than the dirt less, most perfect coach who you can never say a bad thing about ever had in his entire career. Do you guys rename tHe stadium The Daggum Dome?

If Dean had done just a fraction of what K has to promote civil rights and anti-poverty measures in the South, he may have been a good man.

And I like "The Daggum Dome." It has character, and I think UNC fans would find its colloquial nature appealing.

I never said Dean was a bad guy, he's not. He's just above criticism around here, ever. You know how it is. I thought the "Daggum Dome" would be appealing to fans of The People's University. It would be more inclusive and easier to relate and understand .

Well when the "Carolina Way" proved to be perhaps the biggest lie college athletics it should make UNC fans shut up.
