UNC and Duke Basketball, 2015-16

What do you guys think about Carolina next year? Lineup should be something like Berry/Jackson/Pinson/Hicks/Meeks, right? I've been expecting Jackson to take a big step forward at some point, so I guess next season is when I think it happens.

Should be solid top 10 team. Bradley is good, and Kenny Williams will get a chance.

It's official.... Grayson is coming back for his junior season! Honestly surprised he didn't even try to test the waters.

Here's a link for the other Duke fans with him talking about his decision...

already scheduled a visit to the tattoo parlor. This baby is going to be permanent. Book it!

Oh wait, I'm not a Kentucky fan.

Dukes schedule is too hard anyway imo on a year to year basis. UK's was around the top 20 when we won 38. Duke will always play some really good OOC teams, and ACC is super difficult.

Honestly, I wouldn't want the game pressure. Way too difficult.

I think you know I was just having fun. Kentucky's run was remarkable and they probably win a series that year, but everything just caught up with them. I've never seen a year where I actually expect Duke to run the table, next year is no different.

Yeah. 38-2 with the title sounds a ton better than 38-1 with a FF.

I knew it wasn't serious. As hard and tough as UK's run was, it's at least a tad easier playing in the SEC. It would take something magical for Duke to reach that mark UK got to.

Roy Williams Rants About Journalists, Second-Guessing During Post-Game Press Conference | The Big Lead

I still think it's kinda funny that Roy spent Sunday ranting about how he shouldn't be criticized because he's so smart about basketball...and then when Villanova ran literally the only play they use in situations like that one, the play they used to get to the Final Four in 2009, the play they ran this year against Seton Hall, the play the players would have run had they called a timeout or not...Carolina was totally unprepared for it.

Daggum, Roy.

This is absolute gold Jerry! Gold! coming from "Tyler Hansbrough":

The top-rated comment comes from a Tar Heel fan named “Tyler Hansbrough” from Pleasant Hill, N.C., and reads like parody with multiple misspellings and grammatical errors.

“The refs were very bias. Many times they let Villinova get away with alot of walks. As a basketball player I can tell you that letting a guy travel like that makes him hard to defend. Are guys work very hard on the court and in the classroom. Its not write for them to loose the game because of the refs. This was there championship that the refs stole.”

I wish I could take credit for that. Hell Tyler probably wishes he could.

I'd be willing to bet you guys' houses that this is something a State fan made up. The catch, however, is that the grammatical errors are not intentional. The State fan just thought the "Tyler Hansbrough" part was joke enough.

There is no doubt that this is a Wolfpacker. I must say, pretty damn funny.

I don't know Coach K personally and this isn't an all out attack on his personal Character, I'm just saying #TheyLied

What's trolling about it? This is becoming the annual Duke tradition since K got wise and started recruiting the one-and-doners. Kind of like Cal. If this were some exceptional case, I might believe he's just being a sour puss, but this happens every year now in Durham.

If you ain't good enough in your first year or two, then hit the road, Jack! And don't your rear come back no more, no more! K gets to coach the USA Men's Basketball team. He can do better than you, and don't your butt forget it!

Honoring scholarships is becoming just as antiquated as the notion of the student-athlete. Antiquated like the idea that colleges are actually schools still. They're businesses now, just like any other, and have been for a decade or so.

But I thought Cal was the only one who ran kids off? :cray:

Maybe we'll just go with the "Carolina Way", pretend we didn't recruit "one and done" guys because they decided to go somewhere else and then act morally superior that we didn't have them on our team because we cannot develop the good talent we do have like Justin Jackson, James Michael McAdoo, Marcus Paige and then not win championships. Sound about accurate? 12 of 15. You guys are so full of **** with your moral hierarchy. I can't believe I actually felt sorry for you for about 20 minutes a week ago.

This guy's Twitter feed is exactly the kind of crap he's been hearing and believing since before he got to Duke. He averaged 26 minutes a game and was a liability on offense, he's not that good yet, but he could've been really good, but his stupid ass "helicopter" crew couldn't shut up.

But I thought Cal was the only one who ran kids off? :cray:

No one ran off Thornton. There are just a few unbelievably stupid people on the Internet that think a coach would "force out" the only non-freshman point guard on the team instead of people like Antonio Vrankovic who basically never played at all.

They're going to recruit the best players. Pulling loaded classes means some highly touted recruits end up on the bench when they'd start for other schools. So they go to those other schools.

That's it. It's pretty simple, really; I'm not sure why you get all worked up and suggest that it's "immoral" or whatever

I love the idea that evil Coach K is going up to Thornton and telling him he better hit the road because he won't have a scholarship in the fall. That's incredibly dumb. Most kids leave on their own because they want more PT or a more featured role. But since it happens apparently every year, I'd love to see an actual list of people who were forced out at Duke.
