He may have struggled to open the 2nd half, but it seems as if things are starting to click for Derryck Thornton. He starting to make some shots and create a little bit. His on-ball defense surprised me a bit too. It was some of the best on-ball D ive seen in a couple years.
I didn't get to watch but sounds like the Heels responded very well today after a month and a half of fooling around. I honestly expected them to lose today, but they got a big win. Until I can see sustained improvement, I'm not going to put much stock into it.
Duke went from looking like at least two wins for UNC this season to possibly none, the result of their improved play and UNC's inability to get out of what had looked like only a temporary funk initially. I did not get to watch but am under the impression that Duke beat Virginia yesterday under more than dubious circumstances. Regardless, they've demonstrated improved play as of late, have rescued K from another flirtation with sick leave, and have dramatically increased their ceding in the Tournament.
Should be interesting on Wednesday.
more than dubious circumstances? Get real. It was a tough fought game that Duke could've put away but never did. Took a miracle shot from Allen to win. I know you're a UNC fanboy, but don't come across as stupid and biased. This thread is too good for that.
Jeez, guy. I said I didn't get to watch it, and had heard that was the case. Upon viewing what I had heard about, they were right: Allen traveled. However, I would no longer describe it as "more than dubious." It was close enough that in real time it wasn't that bad of a call.
Settle down.
