I think Iran could go toe to toe with our non ground systems for a round or two. I have a hard time believing they could go the distance. Not saying it would be pretty. But I believe the flip for ground forces.
I got a couple friends in the NG and reserves whose units have been deployed in the not so distant past. And they all said their units were not equipped for engagements at all. One even said they shouldnt even leave base with the lack of equipment at home. Cant imagine them doing it abroad with some of the stuff they mentioned.
AFAIK the active units are better off. But based on our past actions the active units need the support from the rest.
I don't have a problem with us taking this POS out, the world is better off. BUT Trump & Co better have a plan for the aftermath that doesn't include war with Iran.
I don't think Iran will launch an invasion of Iraq but I could see and expect to see some sort of retaliation. They will probably try to strike some of our ships in the gulf or lob some missiles at our bases in Iraq.
I'm certainly not afraid of them.
I agree. I have no issue taking the guy out. I'm just not confident that the US has a plan for what's coming.
