USC Please Give me a break.

USC has beaten lots of good teams. I just would like to see them play against the best the SEC has to offer in any given season to really get a measure of them.

I would have liked to have seen them and Auburn play for the National Championship in 2004, the year Auburn had their great team. I wish they could have played LSU in 2003 when the Tigers won the national championship. I even wish it had been USC instead of Ohio State in the championship games these past two seasons.

Hopefully, we will see USC and the this year's SEC Champion finally meet in the BCS Championship game.

The auburn folks forget that the SEC was downright horrible that year. And SC didn't deserve to be in the national championship game the last two years.

I think USC definitely plays as well in big games as anyone else. The one big game they lost was when Vince Young played an unbelievable game. They seem to have more trouble getting up for some of the little games in the Pac 10 than anything.

Hopefully, they destroy Ohio State this Saturday.

Even if the SEC was downright terrible, which it wasn't, it was still far better than the Pac-10. So what's your point?

USC would be right here with EVERYONE in the SEC..

my comparison is... LSU and USC are a lot alike, just random guys who become all-conference every year that you may not have heard of til they are flying all over the field, especially the case on defense.. But lsu has competition in recruiting and on the field, and USC does not. Nowhere near the same competition. But they'd still be right up there with any SEC team.

Why are so many people in love with this team? For one if they were in the SEC we wouldn't hear about them. Another thing they really don't have as many good players as people think. Ex: when they move on to the pros they become busts more often than not. Ex B: Emmanuel Moody transfers to Florida after being a factor back at USC and can't make it off the practice squad. He also looks slow. Its terrible that they save them every year from playin a marquee SEC team. Why schedule Aurburn and Arkansas. How aboutthey schedule Georgia, Florida, LSU, Tennessee. This is getting terrible. Instead of playing Georgia in the BCS bowl they sent the Pac-10's baby brother Hawaii to take the whoppin. Others thoughts on this all universe team are welcome.

saying usc couldn't compete in the sec is laughable.

Anyone get the feeling this game will be remotely close? I'am not sure ohio state doesn't get another big ole dose of reality.

Doubt it they're not playing a SEC team. That's the only conferencee they can't win against.
You can't be serious? USC could absolutely destry more than 90% of the SEC teams this year man. I can't stand them either but give credit where credit is due.

Pretty sure the ACC is great wow they're best team got pummeled by Bama. Get serious. Virginia looks worse than DUKE.
That statement right there proves that proves that you have no business discussing college football. But I'll go ahead and keep reading...

yeah and that is the first time they have travelled for a nonconfence game in something like 30 years.

ASU is overrated, not sure they can hang with georgia
To be accurate (I did a little research on this a couple years ago) It's the first time UGA has traveled more than like 300 miles for a non-conference game in over a half century.

I'd love to see it, too, but the problem is that the top teams of the SEC traditionally have extremely poor non-conference schedules (discount traditional games, like UF-FSU, UGA-GaTech).

... Wat?

droski: To most of these guys, even suggesting the size of the quality gap between the Pac-10 and SEC will get you flamed around here. It's like arguing abortion; just gets people pissed off and running around in circles. Not worth your time.

This is your only hope, really: Begin and end each post with "NOTICE: I hereby recognize that the SEC is a more talented and tougher conference than the Pac-10." Probably the only way you can get some around here to actually read your posts.

Well, in all honesty the SEC is more talented and tougher top to bottom than the PAC-10. USC is the only team that succeeds with any regularity from that conference. I am not debating the fact that USC isnt the best team in the country, if you read some of my post you will see that I think they could beat a couple of NFL teams. But, the SEC is a far more talented conference. What really stinks is that we (UT) lost to a team that would be a bottom feeder in the SEC this year. (UCLA)

Yep. And I agree. The SEC has been the best conference in CFB recently. I won't go so far as to say "Crush and destroy all others" good. I mean, the conference has more than its share of stinker programs (The Mississippi schools, Vandy, the other USC, etc.) and even the best teams have had troubles from time to time (UGA losing to WVA in '05, then losing to both Vandy and Kentucky next season, Les Miles getting to face dead fish in all his bowl games so far, Florida losing to Michigan). But the SEC has been the best conference in the country.

I agree with you on all except one thing. Vandy would win at least 3 maybe 4 conference games in the PAC10

Yeah I hope this USC team doesn't lose to Stanford. :eek:lol:
just like UT lost to Vandy and UCLA?
or Bama losing to LA-Monroe?
let's not forget Miss States losses
Ole Miss losses
Vandy got beat by MTSU a couple years ago.
LSU lost to KY and Arky.

Teams slip up all the time. USC would beat more than 90% of the SEC by two TD's

90% your really pushin it.

You have been "pushing it" for two days. Blathering about USC would choke if it werent in the PAC10. I dislike them as much as anyone does, but there is no denying that they are an elite team.

You guys act like Mark May though. This team makes every other program look like high school teams.
