USU Aggies Spring Ball Video

The crazy thing to me is that USU thinks the talent gap is not that wide. What's even crazier to me is that UT fans feel compelled to even respond to such ignorance. A simple, "Bless your heart" should be in order, that's about it.

I know that your talent is not on par with UT much less the teams UT has faced during this rough patch. I know that you are a program with a history of futility with fans that somehow think a 3 year anomaly created by players and a coach that are no longer there gives you a basis for thinking you are a world beater. I know that most of your players were passed over by bigger programs to INCLUDE Utah, Boise, BYU, etc.

I don't have to know "more" than you know... such as their favorite color or whether they had a puppy named Shep to know that UT has more talent... ALOT more talent.

PUPPY NAMED SHEP. :lolabove:

We earned a few of them. Some were given to us. Like the one that Brewer picked off. It was thrown right to him, and there wasnt a receiver even remotely near the area. Wasnt the Coleman pick 6 thrown right to him too? Im just saying that if we didnt get lucky and have such a crazy series of events happen, the score wouldve been a little closer.

I think we earned all of them. QB hurries due to a front four defense that played marginally decent and getting what was shockingly good play from the DBs. It certainly looked like WKU would pull out a win. Just seems like every chance they got to roar ahead, we came up with a play that just stymied them.

USU's recruiting classes:

2010 - #109
2011 - #78
2012 - #117
2013 - #105
2014 - #106

And they try to compare athletes....

I'm glad we're playing them and not that other red Utah team! :)

Your WR looked all-world, I'll give you that.

I was using hyperbole mostly to show sjt how stupid he sounds making predictions based off 5 minutes of Spring Game footage.

That was just one WR. There's a belief that we are very close to where we would have been if the Amigos Tres had played. That was when Hunter, Rogers, and Patterson were here. However, Rogers disciplinary issues denied us that chance. Now we got Pearson, North, and Croom. That doesn't even take into account that we also have what could easily become Zach Rogers 2.0. The unheralded guy who outplayed the star receivers to the point he became the go to receiver. That guy now is Josh Smith. Then there's also Cody Blanc who has game experience and is pretty good himself. But may not seeing the field so much this season because of what's ahead of him. Then there are those two sure handed TEs with nasty dispositions, one who it seems it takes more than one tackler to bring him down. Then of course the little slot guys Young and Pickett who double as scatbacks. Those two have me thinking we have a Demps and Rainey combo, guys that gave opposition fits during their whole time together in Florida. I hope The Butch tries them out as punt rushers as Florida did with their little guys. Little speedsters sped in behind the big boys up front and just kept blocking punts. HEY Butch! You listening?

All in all, MJA, I'm not dismissing your team as some are. It's inherently dumb to underestimate the 'enemy' and many a 'mighty one' has paid the dear price for doing so. However, I think you're unaware of what will be put on the field gameday on our end. I've no doubt the same can be said about your Aggies.

Right now this is all talk but don't be surprised if you end up the way the very confident Wolfpack and later the equally confident Hilltoppers did. The first, when we had a coach we didn't all realize just wasn't up to being a HC. The second, despite them having one of the finest offensive coaches who also coached in the NFL and left because he wanted to, to the dismay of the Falcons. He had the RB and the QB to pull the win off. I think both he and we were stunned about how the Vols patchwork defense played with freshmen in key roles. A shame we didn't keep up the intensity and playmaking.

Vols fans, do you recall ole Zach was dismissed by fans because he could get free but dropped parallels Zach in this way? I think they were also about the same size as well as ethnic. Maybe not, Josh seems to have put on noticeable weight. Seems weird.

WKU is slower than USU? how do you know? USU lost a ton and everyone wants to point out what UT lost. WKU has recruited better than USU and even had a high 4 star safety from UF. WKU had better talent as a whole. Esp if youre comparing WKUs 2013 team to USU 2014.
Thisss. He doesn't.. And he is going off YouTube videos

They had a pro RB, and a couple of big time WR transfers. USU doesn't have that type talent

Was Malone assumed in your conversation about the WR's?

The same WKU that out gained you guys 392-383? We won't turn the ball over 5 times in a 6 play span, sorry.

Yep, same WKU team we out scored by 32 pts. And those turnovers didn't happen in a vacuum...they "gave" us 2 of them, we forced the other 4. Btw, you surely know better than judge a 32 point blowout game by total yardage. There were national pundits that picked WKU to win as their upset of the week.....the game was never in doubt.

He is acting as if they will get in front of 100,000 fans and play mistake free football.

We've seen the phenomena before. Think of a little arrogant private school 3 hours west of Knoxville. Traditional doormat program, used to 1-4 wins seasons, never beaten anybody. Then all of a sudden, after decades of futility they string together 2 good seasons and they're ready to stomp a mudhole in any and all comers and contend for a national championship, all the while talking smack like they're winning Nattys like Bama, Auburn or FSU.

Saw a USU guy come here and call us arrogant. Yet, I seriously doubt that there are many if any Vol fans going on OKlahoma's fan site beating their chest and predicting we're gonna go in there and kick arse and take names.

No disrespect to the aggies, but a hot August night in Tennessee can be ugly thick. Put your boys in the middle of 100,000 at 80 plus degrees and 90 plus humidity, 1st game jitters. Hell, I'll spot ya 7 just for showing up. Those vaunted aggie linebackers will be sucking their thumbs by the middle of the 3rd.

Bound to be one or two idiots spouting off.

Upon further review you're probably right. USU has about 9 fans, 3 of which have come here beating their breasts.

UT has hundreds of thousands of fans so you're bound to be right...a couple probably have snuck over there. Probably the guys who think we're gonna blowout Bama, Florida, and Oklahoma....I've seen 'em, they're on here.

I hope it's still 90 degrees at kickoff.

Like against Auburn 3 years ago, 90k in the middle of the day in August?

It's not unfounded expectations. USC last year, Wisconsin the year before that, Auburn the year before that, Oklahoma the year before that...

I guess it's unreasonable, though.

Your problem ain't weather... and your salvation isn't the HC of Wisconsin. Three years ago a talented HC that used you as a stepping stone to a "real" job competed with a grossly incompetent coach. Yes Auburn was coming off a national championship... but also the loss of the player who pretty much singlehandedly won it for them.

You do remember that Chzik was fired a year later for being grossly incompetent, right? Well your best hope of keeping this game close is for Jones (against his history and the consensus view of him) is similarly incompetent.

It's not unfounded expectations. USC last year,
You mean the one with the coach on a red hot seat that was fired after the game with you? You mean the one that had already lost to WSU? The one that would lose to ASU the next week and give up over 60 pts?
Wisconsin the year before that,
Yes. A Wisconsin team that beat only 3 FBS teams that year with a winning record? The one who beat opponents with a combined record of 42-47. The one that almost lost to FCS Northern Iowa in week 1 and only beat a 3-9 UTEP team by 11 the week after playing you?
Auburn the year before that,
In the first game after Cam?
Oklahoma the year before that...

I guess it's unreasonable, though.
Ah yes... that was a proud year, huh? 4-8 record with the two of those wins coming by 4 and 5 points respectively against teams that finished with 1 and 2 wins respectively... another came against an FCS team... that won 1 game that year and hasn't won more than 3 since 2006.

The more your "rise" is taken in context... the less impressive it looks.

and you still lost. they played bad. they were a 5 or 6 loss team that yr. they played bad and still beat you. if you want to talk about " almost" wins we have a number of those over the past few years. but it doesnt matter.

USC was under a ton of turmoil at the time. they only had 60k at the game. They still found a way to win during a very toxic time. if they played you later in the year they would have murdered USU bc they were playing great.
