UT or OSU for the 8-seed? (Data)

I prefer not to travel - the home field advantage is HUGE. If these games were at a neutral site- it doesn't matter but tickets to the traveling team will be very limited.
Yeah. It’s insane that UT ticket office sent an email to the donors saying we get 1000 tickets. 500 will sit in upper bowl and the other 500 in lower bowl. TN will use the other 2500 for admin

Why don't we play the game before we blame the refs for us getting beat.....
I didn’t bring it up, but it’s a TN high five when someone brings up bad officiating. I’m not going to leave him hanging.

I don’t believe we’re going to get beat, for the record. I just think the refs are going to be bad and probably won’t do us any favors.

I truly believe they want certain matchups to happen and ranked the teams in anticipation of that.

- First, they want OSU to play at home and not travel
- Second, they want OSU to play an SEC team.
- Third, they would like a rematch of Oregon and OSU because OSU blew that when they lost to Michigan.

So, they sandwiched OSU in a spot between two SEC teams. If Georgia loses and loses badly, they can just switch the teams and get what they want. They might also switch the order to avoid a third Georgia verses Texas matchup.

Miami is going to get booted because the Big 12 champion has to have a spot. They are absolutely NOT in after next week. If Clemson upsets SMU, then they will boot Bama as well as they will keep SMU unless Clemson beats them badly.

If PSU loses, Notre Dame will rise back into the 5 spot which will ruin their Alabama - Notre Dame matchup.
I believe if Georgia gets beat, they will drop 2 and play OSU. We would host Indiana. ESPN would think Georgia v OSU would be bigger than UT v OSU.

Vol fans need to get off the ref narrative....we all know they suck sometimes but to constantly blame them should be below us

My biggest issue with this is the weather in Columbus. It could suck really bad with sleet or snow. Those guys are used to awful weather and we're not.
Then let Dylan Sampson run it down their throat while Ryan Day cries about being soft yet again.

We deserve the home game, but if the committee is going to protect one of their precious golden brands, Heupel & Co. must destroy it with extreme prejudice.

Yes crazy - the drive is doable but not enough tickets available.

I hope we get a Mountain West officiating crew.

Not only is 9-3 Bama in the field, they would draw Notre Dame and SMU to the Semi's lmao
Ridiculous. And the committee said more or less the teams that don’t play this week can’t improve their seeding.

I’ve been to too many Music City Bowls to take my eye off of the refs. I’m on the side of there needs to be reform in a terrible way.
You are missing the point, no one said they didn't need to be better. But the game isn't set, it hasn't been played and the refs are already an excuse. Point being stop using the refs as the excuse. To make excuses before playing is loser thinking......that is butch jones thinking, that is Dooley thinking....

They won’t change their relationship to other teams that don’t play. The good news is he put this “punishment” fantasy to bed by being clear that the championship games can change rank.

According to what Manuel said at the end of the show, I do not see any way that UT gets to a host a game. He said that they will not penalize teams for playing in a CCG. He also said that teams that do not have another game will not have another data point, so they will not move relative to teams around them that also do not play another game. So the losers of OR/PS and TX/GA will not drop below us, and we will not move relative to OhSt. The only possibility I see is that some crazy CCG result moves us down to #10.

Agree - they considered potential adjustments matchups and anticipated winners with this. The odd is that Texas beats Georgia - typically rematches go the other way. And a potential third game between Georgia and Texas would not be interesting - just saying.

And they would not move OSU up because that would have them playing Indiana again and us playing Georgia - having the SEC verses Big 10 matchup is more interesting that a couple of rematches.

I believe you might have misunderstood what he meant about CCG games. The winner might move up, but the loser will not be penalized. He has said that more than once.

I didn’t misunderstand it. He’s clarified it several times now. A loser can move down. If you think Georgia can lose by a couple of touchdowns and hold that spot, you’re wrong.

Right but it’s set up where even if they do drop, it doesn’t help us.

I am ranked around 8500 so doubt I will get tickets. As a session ticket holder, I’m guaranteed my two seats, one of which I would sell to vol fan.

Look at it Georgia wins.....holy sh*t. Texas won't drop that far and Georgia gets a bye, Penn state has to drop when they lose, that would be chaos
