Utah State feeling confident

This is a must-win game for the Vols. The question is how much Team 118 thinks UT must win by. The Aggies want to make a big statement-- so do we.

I guess you were expecting them to say, "We're all really scared. We all wish that we didn't have to play the game."

In any case, they have been in environments like this before.

The delusion of so many fans (Tennessee or otherwise) is really annoying.

Relax bud, I'm just excited for the game. I really do feel like the stadium is going to be incredibly loud and will affect the communication between aggie players. I'm not actually serious about them being scared

The first few minutes will be intimidating but thats about it.. they will settle in and get tunnel vision on the field and forget about the stadium... the freshman may have to take a few more minutes to settle in with it being a new experience. :good!:

Is this an aggie fan in disguise?

Not this particular team, it wasn't but 2 yrs ago that USU walked into Jordan-Hare and had Auburn down 14+ in the 4th qt. They know the SEC and the noise level and anyone who argues Jordan-Hare can't be just as loud as Neyland either hasn't been to Auburn or is where orange shaded glasses. I lost my voice in 2008 trying to talk to people next to me and I was on the first level so you got a taste of what the field level is like. All of my UF friends have told me the the '06 AU-UF game was the loudest game they've ever been to, more than anything they've experienced in the Swamp.

If we can put the QB briskly, soundly and legally on the ground after his first 4-5 passes, the game and day will start to seem very long for their QB (and so goes their game). Our LBs and blitzing DBs should drink about 4 RedBulls just before game time.

All you who think they're going to wet all over themselves because of Neyland and/or are affected by the weather are delusional. They played at Auburn just 2 years ago in the season opener and many of those players are still there. We will win imo, but I don't buy this intimidation bs.

It's a little different playing at Auburn at noon than Neyland at night. It won't cause us to win or lose, but it will have an impact on the game.

I hope UT gets the ball 1st and goes down and scores. My fear is, if USU gets the ball 1st and scores that will be the quietest 100,000 people you've ever heard and it will throw the intimidation factor right out the window.
Wont happen unless we are down 14-0 or so

I can't blame them for being confident. Tennessee has been irrelevant for a number of years, they went 9-5 last year, almost beat USC on the road, almost won their conference championship game against a ranked team on the road, and beat a ranked team in the bowl game. They will come in expecting to play well and probably will.

Having said that, -6.5 is far too few points and I already have loaded up on the Big Orange.

I went to one of the Utah St. forums and they had some pretty fun predictions. I think our young guys will have gitters in the first half, but open it up and win 32-14

A lot of Tennessee fans are feeling confident about Oklahoma too.

Well after all, they have lost Mixon for the yr, which might have been their best recruit and starter, then they just found out Bechkam is not playing this yr and Shannon isn't looking too positive either.. And on top of all that their Qb is shaky. Lets get it!:rock::rock:

Utah State will score points. They run the spread with a mobile QB (admittedly coming off ACL surgery) and will likely be able to get to the edge on several plays.

I bet they get into the 20s; but I bet Tennessee gets into the 40s.

When have the Vols lost to a Utah State type of school at Home??? Wyoming? Happened with lame duck coach, will not happen on Sunday! Anybody remember Western Kensucky, or NC St? Lots of angst for nothing, the Vols don't lose home openers to opponents like Utah St. GOVOLS!!!

It hasn't happened but has come very close to happening the last few yrs..Troy should have beaten us, South Alabama easily could have, UAB several yrs ago and Utah St is way better than those 3..Hope to god it doesn't happen but definitely not a gimme first game.

Just get louder. "Problem solved"

It would be safe to say we are better than those Vols teams as well.
