He is implying 100%. If it’s marketed as 90% effective against transmission then it was marketed as 10% ineffective against transmission which isn’t some guarantee of preventionLiterally every manufacturer was claiming their vax was 9X.X% effective against transmission and catching it in 2021....
Guess that's not marketing
He is implying 100%. If it’s marketed as 90% effective against transmission then it was marketed as 10% ineffective against transmission which isn’t some guarantee of prevention
Nope, was always bothYour point was that it was originally marketed as something to reduce the severity of the disease.
That is 100000000000% incorrect
Benefits of interest deemed critical were prevention of symptomatic laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 and prevention of hospitalization due to COVID-19 (Table 2). Other important benefits included prevention of death due to COVID-19 and prevention of asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection.
It was marketed on something that was never studied or tested. There were no trials on transmission after vax it was just made up like the 6ft ruleHe is implying 100%. If it’s marketed as 90% effective against transmission then it was marketed as 10% ineffective against transmission which isn’t some guarantee of prevention
I don’t remember that at all, IIRC it was sold as making you less likely to die or be on a ventilator if you got COVID, not as some guarantee you’d never get it
Here's another example for you
- Analysis of 927 confirmed symptomatic cases of COVID-19 demonstrates BNT162b2 is highly effective with 91.3% vaccine efficacy observed against COVID-19, measured seven days through up to six months after the second dose
- Vaccine was 100% effective in preventing severe disease as defined by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and 95.3% effective in preventing severe disease as defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
- Vaccine was 100% effective in preventing COVID-19 cases in South Africa, where the B.1.351 lineage is prevalent
The argument was made that all of the marketing was about reducing severity if you caught COVID after you got the vax......

Absolutely correct. Both sides could easily be wrong. There are so many variables. I’m sure there are lingering effects from Covid and the vaccine but I also believe there’s a bunch of stuff people attribute to either the virus or the vaccine that are neither.
“All of the marketing” is something you just made up, it was about reducing transmission and making you less likely to be in the ICU if you did get it, which was acknowledged as a possibility from Day 1
Even when Biden went too far in 2021, everyone still said the exact same thing I'm sayingThere were a lot saying that it would prevent yards yada yada.
There were a lot saying “nut uh” I’d agree with you that there wasn’t a consensus on that.
BIDEN: “You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.” — town hall.
THE FACTS: Again, he painted with too broad a brush as he described in stark terms the disparity between those who got their shots and those who haven’t. The disparity is real, but a small number of breakthrough infections happen and health officials say they are not a cause for alarm.
No vaccines are perfect, and the government is keeping a close eye on whether new coronavirus mutants start to outsmart the COVID-19 shots. But for now, federal health officials say even when breakthrough infections occur, they tend to be mild — the vaccines so far remain strongly protective against serious illness.
BIDEN, asked about vaccinated people who get infected: “It may be possible, I know of none where they’re hospitalized, in ICU and or have passed away so at a minimum I can say even if they did contract it, which I’m sorry they did, it’s such a tiny percentage and it’s not life threatening.” — remarks to reporters after the event.
THE FACTS: Once again, too far. That is evident from the CDC’s finding that 5,492 vaccinated people who tested positive for coronavirus were hospitalized or died as of July 12. That’s not “none.” But he is correct that it is a small percentage of the more than 159 million fully vaccinated Americans.
