Vaccine or not?

Ok. Ras's comment seems to be based on the assumption it is a vaccine, but the government sold it poorly. I'd like to know how they could do better, and whether people would actually listen. If you don't want to accept the premise, you don't have to chime in. Any thoughts on how the government could better market the therapeutic?
That is an interesting question. I think all the fear tactics are completely overblown for one. But really, why should the government 'need' to market this in the first place? It is not a death sentence.

Coronavirus (COVID) | NCH Healthcare System
  • NCH is currently caring for a total of 516 patients between our two hospitals.
    • Of that number, we are caring for 213 patients have tested positive for COVID.
    • Of that number, 191 patients or approximately 90% are unvaccinated.
    • Of that number, 48 patients are in critical care with COVID.
      • We are at 136% critical care capacity with 64 of 47 beds filled.
    • Of that number, 34 patients are on vents.
    • Patient ages range from 15-98 with a median age of 58.
    • There are 4 pediatric patients.

So... .then ALL hospitals in America are in this same state?

Our opinions on its impact are probably irreconcilable.

Edit: but keep in mind I responded to Ras's post about marketing.

I'm simply relaying what's happening in my neck of the woods.

Is that inconvenient for you?

Again, I encourage you anti vaxxers to resist masks, the vaccine and for guys like you - the booster when it's available.

I'm to the point where I'm encourage a thinning of the herd.

So you will never admit that there are not stacks of bodies in every street in the world and that 99% or better of everyone that has gotten this will survive? That Dr Fauci LIED about the whole. damned. thing. FROM THE START?

But I guess you are right that we are irreconcilable in that there is no way in hell I am having that stuck in my body at this time. Get back to me in 5 years and if we are even still talking about this nonsense I might consider it. Until then.. nuh uh. I have the 'I survived Chinese Flu' T shirt and that's all I need right now.

I think your first paragraph is extremely hyperbolic.

It is the kind of fear porn that our very own @Septic is selling to this day. Well maybe a little hyperbolic, but not all that much. IT is 99% survivable. ninety. nine. percent. People play the lottery on a daily basis with odds that are nowhere near that same galaxy and they are afraid of this????? And make no mistake it is pure fear.

If they are at that capacity I wonder why they havent enacted thier emergency covid protocols which extends thier total critcal care bed to 100+....curious

your stats are for only NCH which all area hospitals don't seem to be a part of...

Not at all. You are simply spreading your version of fear porn. I get it.

Carry on.

My mother was re-admitted today for a pulmonary embolism, she can't get a room and is getting treatment in hallway.

It's not fear porn you boorish clown.

You'd have to ask them, looking at a few charts online doesn't make me qualified on emergency management a resource deployment protocols.

Yeah it is. I'll pray for your mother. The hospitals in my area have not this problem and have not for a long long time.

Understandable. Sorry to hear about your mother...i would ask the hospital why considering covid is filling 100% of critcal bed...

OH well.

As long as your area isn't having problems, it must not be a problem anywhere else.

Myopic doesn't began to describe you.

I can talk to a hospital nurse in my town who tells me the ICU is full because of Covid, not necessarily all the beds, but the normal cases plus covid have overloaded them. People will then say, "oh but the government numbers can't be trusted; but based on the numbers the government put out the ICUs aren't really full." If the government can't be trusted, I'll keep trusting the people I trust. I can't say what's happening nationally, but I'm confident in what's happening locally.

I didn't say that. I said you are spreading fear porn. Every tree in a forest fire doesn't burn.

That's just it, when resources are absolutely at the limit - and something horrible and unexpected happens care for these other atrocities suffers.

If they are not all full, how does that mean they are overloaded? @Septic's hospital is overloaded. Mine is not. It doesn't sound like yours is either.

It's absolutely what you implied, own it.

It's not "fear porn" when it affects you, despite your myopia I hope no one close to you needs acute care and there's no room at the inn.

That was inarticulate of me. All the beds here are full. They are at their usual number of other cases and Covid has pushed them over capacity. If I am in Clarksvolistan with a full ICU, @Septic is in Septictown with a full ICU, and you are 600 or 1000 miles away in Spacecoastville with an empty ICU; and I need an ECMO or whatever it is, that doesn't help unless somebody decides to fly me to Spacecoastville.
