Vaccine or not?

Thousands of people die using the phone while driving and no one cares, but if someone gets sick from a vaccine, it's all over the news.
Hell, think of all the foreign objects that have to be medically removed from rectums.

My client base is a lot of high risk individuals. My wife is high risk so I’ll be getting the shot to protect and make her feel better and really just to put others minds at ease. I’m not going to waste time debating this decision. I’m more likely to die from complications of the materials I work with than this vaccine.

I respect and support your decision, plus I‘d hate for Red to beat your azz.

I had it and did just fine. To be honest, I see no need for a vaccine for a virus that has a survival rate of 99.8% for people 18-64. My God given immune system is sufficient.
We also have Flu, Shingles, Measles, Chicken Pox and Pneumonia vaccines and they have higher survival rates.

Honestly, before the Lancet published Andrew Wakefield's fraudulent 1990s study linking vaccines to Autism, I never heard anyone saying negative things about them.

20 years after the study was retracted and admitted to have been falsified, the anti-vax movement is still going strong without an ounce of science behind it.

Closest I’ve found in my research is an EOD blast suit. Even then you gotta eventually come out of it to use the bathroom or eat. She’s got me dead to rights.

I got my first round earlier this week. My shoulder was slightly sore the next day - that was absolutely the only side effect I ever noticed. Maybe that's breaking ranks with some of you, but I'm still a rabid anti dem. A new aortic valve may be in order later this year, so vaccination would be a requirement anyway.

I am a vet and was a military brat. You should see my shot record and the stuff the military injected me with over the years ... without harm ... as far as I know (I will be 75 this year). Some of the stuff like "Jap B" would obviously be considered racist today, though.

No. I am not.

My son had it and was asymptomatic.

My 73 year old dad had it and was tired a week and then better. My mom never showed any symptoms.

My wife currently has it and is simply tired. I am either asymptomatic or dont have it.

No way in hell I am sticking a fast tracked drug in me. I also hate flying nor need to so if it causes me to never be able to fly big deal. 10 years there will be a commercial with an 800 number asking u to call to be part of a class action lawsuit if you took it. I will pass.

My Marine buddy said the same thing.

My uncle though is on full disability due to agent orange issues but that's a different topic totally.

I can't disagree with you there. It's almost bikini season so I'll be here less.

Got your wax appointment scheduled yet? And be sure to wear sunscreen. The sun is murder on your skin, especially if you're wearing a bikini.

My doctors have recommended I get the vaccine. Of course, with all my health problems, I'm considered high risk.

My friend, who is in his mid-30s, had a mild case back in November but doesn't have his sense of smell back yet. There are also folks who didn't die but have permanent cardiovascular and/or respiratory damage from it. So the notion that the goal is to simply not die is pretty myopic if you ask me.

From a probabilistic standpoint, there's little or no evidence that the vaccines are dangerous, whereas half a million people in the U.S. have died, and lots more have been sickened by covid. There's also the risk of letting the virus hang around and continue to mutate into something that is more contagious and more deadly than the strains we have now. If everyone who can get the vaccine does so then we'll be much better off in the long run, IMO.

So you can state with 100% certainty that those half a million people died BECAUSE of COVID?

I’ll be waxed front and back don’t worry.

To each his own. Everyone should be free to make their own healthcare decisions. I would never stop anyone from taking any drug/tx/vaccine that's been thoroughly tested and proven effective and safe. I do, however, demand the same right to refuse any drug/tx/vaccine that I'm not comfortable with. I've listened to various virologists and read numerous articles about the nRNA approach to this vaccine. Granted it's not new, but there are reasonable concerns about an autoimmune complication. This concern, along with the aforementioned survival rate, has convinced me that it's not something I'm willing to do. Again, I see no need for it.

Yes, I'll be the first to admit that I'm also anti-mask. I wear one every day in my line of work(healthcare provider for almost 40 years) and know what they will and will not do. Anyone who thinks a mask will protect them from a viral particle this size is simply naive. They are completely and totally ineffective at stopping this virus. I won't even go into the eyes being exposed to said virus, but suffice it to say, I'm amazed at how quickly some have given up their God given freedoms and completely stopped thinking for themselves.

I can't state with 100% certainty that I'm not a brain in a vat. But I can state with a high amount of confidence that the chances of dying or becoming seriously ill without the vaccine are higher than with it. Which is really about all that needs to be considered.
