I took it yesterday. Mainly for my wife's peace of mind and so I will feel better about visiting my 81 year old mom next month.

I had Pfizer on Tuesday. My choice if available would have been J&J and then Moderna. I have to say the EMT who did the shot was great - I never felt it. I told my wife I found her equal when it comes to giving shots.

Why did you pick the J. And J?

It’s my understanding that the J and J is 68% affective and is one does. The Moderna is 2 does and is 95ish% Affective. However I believe the first dose of Moderna is 75% affective by itself. So my question is why not just do the first does of Moderna?

Which is more preferable between the Pfizer and the Moderna? Is one supposedly more effective than the other?

I didn't feel the shot either. It was kind of weird.

The reason this skit was so funny is that the writers never showed it to him until the actual day of live recording. So his first and only take was when he actually read it.

One of the very few funny things in that show in the last 2 decades since the days of church lady, van down by the river, etc

J&J testing was done after the new variants emerged; the lower efficacy numbers came largely from the S African trial when the newer variants had become the dominant strain. It was far more in the ballpark in the US and Brazil - 82% and 88%. From other articles all the vaccines are pretty much equal and extremely effective in preventing long term hospitalization ... or the susceptible population has been Cuomoed.

I can't fault giving the vaccine to teachers even if it had been at my expense. My older son is a university prof and has pretty severe (but controlled) asthma; I was far more concerned about him than me.

It's almost like they planned to give the vaccines to certain age and health categories, then open it up to occupations that had a higher risk of infection (like ones where you're stuck in a small room with thirty people all day). If only Q hadn't abandoned us (or been disappeared by the lizard people), he'd get to the bottom of this conspiracy.

To each his own. I was right in the middle on this one.
I know people in the medical profession who did not get it and people in the medical profession who were anxiously first in line.
If it gives people an increased sense of safety thereby allowing society to continue moving back to normal, I'm all for it.
