It also would suck to be apart of the the group that have “ adverse reactions “ to it . That’s why it should be a personal choice . What is the acceptable number of adverse reactions , it always comes down to that .
VAERS data released today showed a total of 441,931 reports of adverse events from all age groups following COVID vaccines, including 6,985 deaths and 34,065 serious injuries. June 25, 2021.
Edit: 598,000 unvaccinated deaths from Covid in the US by that same time frame.
At that time 55% of the population had been vaccinated and their deaths are included in the 6985 deaths reported by VAERS.
take the vaccine, don’t take the vaccine, whatever…..but those are the numbers.
Are those the actual numbers of deaths as result of the vaccine? 6985?VAERS data released today showed a total of 441,931 reports of adverse events from all age groups following COVID vaccines, including 6,985 deaths and 34,065 serious injuries. June 25, 2021.

I don’t believe either set of numbers . I don’t believe any agency putting them out or any platform that an agenda can be pushed in either direction . What I know is there are cases that can be made for either way you decide to choose . We won’t know true numbers for 20 years .. maybe . Too much profit and political agendas involved right now .
Swine flu 'debacle' of 1976 is recalled - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)That’s total reported deaths of vaccinated who died from Covid and/or reaction to the vaccine.
Waiting in long lines at schools and clinics, more than 40 million Americans -- almost 25% of the population -- received the swine flu vaccine before the program was halted in December after 10 weeks.
More than 500 people are thought to have developed Guillain-Barre syndrome after receiving the vaccine; 25 died. No one completely understands the causes of Guillain-Barre, but the condition can develop after a bout with infection or following surgery or vaccination. The federal government paid millions in damages to people or their families.

All it took was 25 deaths back then, but we can accept 6985 now? Not saying the program should be cancelled, but just saying that it isn't even as safe and effective as the shot that went out nearly 45 years ago.
OK, here is a story during the 2nd or 3rd week of the vaccine program back then. I wonder what was the cause of them halting it in this situation? It's not clear from that link why the program was canceled but it also says that the threat from the virus never really materialized. If covid wasn't a threat then it probably would make sense to cancel the current vaccine program.

This isn't a comparison if swine flu vs COVID. This is a comparison of the vaccine rollout for swine flu vs the vaccine rollout for COVID.This link also says there was no evidence the shots caused the deaths. Regardless, this swine flu outbreak was not really comparable to the current pandemic and therefore comparing responses to it may not make a lot sense.

The severity of one virus over the other isn't the take away. The take away should be that they stopped the vaccine initiative in 1976 after less than 50 people died, yet we are going full steam ahead with close to 7000 deaths. And I think you are being naive if you don't think the vaccine was not the leading candidate for the cause of death.
The “if one person is harmed then (insert whatever you want) we shouldn’t do it” standard has been a tool of the left and the right for as long as I can remember.I'm confused--are you implying that the amount of risk we're willing to tolerate regarding the vaccine shouldn't be related to the risk of the disease it's intended to mitigate?
Moving the goalposts.Speculative.
Again, the point is that the program was stopped after less than 50 deaths from the vaccine. There is no reason to make an experimental vaccine mandatory.
One more thing, the VAERS data is possibly flawed and represents an undercount. Apparently, the VAERS form takes about 30 minutes to complete and there is some difficulty in submitting the data to VAERS.
