Vaccine or not?

Maybe too strong. You condemn one while being on with another

So where's the contradiction? I'm pro vaccine--I think people ought to get it. I don't understand why people are so up in arms about this but stood by for decades while they were putting addicts in jail. None of that makes me pro-mandate.

You're ok with govt forcing the vaccine . Both are govt overreach

Previous post but you just don't believe cutting off the ability to make a living and feed ones family to be force. Just difference of opinion I guess

I argued what constitutes force in the context of comparing that to imprisoning addicts. That's not supporting government vaccine mandates.

Who is forcing? Creating a difficult decision isn't forcing. Putting you in jail is force. Holding you down and giving you the vaccine is force.

They're ruining people's lives putting them in jail and making them felons for using drugs and we're complaining about a vaccine that's supposed to prevent people from dying. Again, seems odd to me.
Yeah... your job/career. You are a piece of work. The people that are refusing the vaccine didn't bring this on themselves. This virus is no fault of theirs. So why are they being treated like the criminals/bad guys? Why not aim your anger at the people that released the virus or created the virus?

You're playing around with semantics. Force or coercion... take your pick. Neither is acceptable in a free society.

Who said we're a free society? You're coerced to pay taxes. To sign up for the draft. To follow the laws other people wrote. You're never going to be completely free from all coercion or force in any society.* But the hill we're choosing to die on (no pun intended) is a vaccine during a pandemic. I don't get it.

*note for pj that I'm not advocating for any sort of additional force or coercion, including vaccine mandates

We didn’t “make” them get the vaccine. We just told them they were fired if they refused.

This is one of the dumbest moral equivalencies ever drawn.

The ramifications will last longer than the pandemic... just look at 9/11 and the emergency powers and limitations carried out back then.

And we see how these politicians are using the vaccines as a way to not only control if you have a job or not, but they are pairing it with passports that will limit your ability to go to buy groceries, to restaurants or other gatherings. This has to be stopped. This is the foundation of a social credit score here in this country.

I am vaccinated. I don't understand why people are surprised that there is a large number of people who don't want it. Many have already had Covid. Why should they get it? Some are hesitant bc the government doesn't have the high road regarding not doing experiments on people. Many don't see the need to get something put in their body to protect them when if infected it's probably not even going to do anything to do them. And lastly some are skeptical as to why the makers of these drugs can't be held accountable if there are serious problems. Oh, and you had every official from Biden, to Pelosi, to Fauci saying we would never mandate it. Yet here we are.

Being unable to feed your family is force. But congrats, you both applauded and complained about massive govt overreach in one post. Usually we have to search to find such contradiction
This is rich as hell based on you lamenting companies not being able to force employees from getting the jab or face termination in the other thread. You’re all over the damn place 😂

I don't agree with a lot of how we handle things in this country. So is your argument that we already don't live in a free society right now, so we might as well hand over what little bit of personal sovereignty we have left?

Business owners should be the ones deciding for their business. My stance is consistent whether it's a govt mandate for or against

Is the Biden rule thats coming, "you have to be vaccinated" or "you have to be vaccinated or tested?" I'm not sure, so I'd like to know what's actually being "forced."
