I find it very interesting that employers hate gov. interference and labor unions that formed solely due to the freedoms of employers implementing policy that direct their workforce. Do you support the law in Tennessee that requires you to pay for employees to go vote if you schedule them during hours in which the polls are open? It would be awesome if employers were as smart as they think they are and dealt with their workforce with benevolence. There wouldn't be a necessity for any government involvement at all.
There it is. You claim to support freedom yet you'd gladly suppress someone's right to vote. This is the reason you will always have gov regulation for employee protection. I'd say this gov interference that you hate has probably saved you from getting beaten to death by an employee. Your problem is that you can't differentiate the responsibilities of what an employer should be from that of a slave master.1st sentence - WTF? If employees choose to unionize I support their right to do so, I also support the employers right to close the doors and fire every one of them. But from experience any company today where the workforce unionizes probably deserves a union workforce. As for the .gov, stay the hell out of the private sector.
No I do not support the law requiring paid time off to vote even though we were doing it prior to the law. In spite I just may end the practice and close the office at 4pm on election day going forward. But in all seriousness I have NEVER had a complaint from an employee about not getting time to vote and 80% +/- of my workforce is out of town M-F. They're adults and make arraignments so they don't need the .gov to hold their hands.
There is no need for government interference anymore, everyone is hiring so if you don't like your employer you have options.

Why don’t you start a business? Since you and so many others believe there’s too many evil people in business, why not force them to compete with you?
Rather than spout nonsense about how evil employers are
Employers enter a contract with an employee. They are not released of liability from injury due to the direction of the workforce. They are not allowed to work employees over a certain number of hours. They are required to allow break time. They are subject to the laws of where they choose to do business at. @hog88 clearly has issue with this.Just none benevolent. You were clearly implying they’re bad people.

It's still a contract dumba$$. You offer them work for pay, they either accept the terms or not. Just because it's not labeled as such, it's a contract.I don't have a single contract employee. When we hire we give them a job description, a rate of pay, benefits package and and a handbook they choose to accept or not. Then once they accept we take them out back and brand their ass.
Not to butt my nose in where it isn't needed, but I believe he's referring to 1099 employees, meaning he actually hires employees and pays their benefits (and is therefore benevolent). JMO...carry on.It's still a contract dumba$$. You offer them work for pay, they either accept the terms or not. Just because it's not labeled as such, it's a contract.
In TN there is no law preventing how many hours a person can work. Adult person that is.
