Vaccine or not?

There you go, detouring onto a dirt road away from the highway. Typical tactic of rightests who just like to twist statements into things they never were. Pardon me for uh, putting, erm, "space" between us on your trying to make it sound like I wanted to force-feed your attitude about the Covvie. And on that note I abandon you to the void of "space" to continue shouting in a vacuum. Engaging warp drive - waa-wooosh!

Just trying to explain why you got the short terse answer from space. You jump in at 2+ years and you get what you get.
Curious response from you that doesn’t make allot of sense but you do you.

I totally agree. It should have always been about personal choice. The level of garbage rhetoric was off the meter with covid. Quite frankly after 2+ years of hearing it my care o meter for bs is busted.
You think public health professionals should have run a vaccine campaign in which the theme was “We have a COVID vaccine, you can take it, or don’t, it’s up to you.” Really?

How about "we have a vaccine that will help you protect grandma, that hasnt been fully tested yet, so we recommend you talk to your doctor about it before getting it"?

They still get to push it, but admit it isnt fully approved, only one still is, and it brings in the PCP. Seems like that covers the bases.

And if they really wanted to be upfront with the public they could throw in the disclaimer that if the one and million happens to them the manufacturers are protected from being sued.

And if they wanted to be even more upfront they could have listed all the government funding of the shots, then noted all the pfizer/moderna/J&J money going back into those pushing it, and let people know what is really going on.

They painted a completely one sided picture and refused to even admit that the vaccines werent 100.0000000000000% safe or tested.

That’s what you think a community health nurse’s job should be during a novel virus pandemic? Dear lord.

Never mentioned nurses strawman.

Do you mean you think their job should be unilaterally pushing untested means and methods as if they were proven? Or should they treat it like a novel virus and explore more options than a vaccine?

He thought Covid had a 7% mortality rate, so yea, I think he would be for pushing anything.

I did, that’s what “public health” professionals implies. Who do you think does the work in your community?

Since the shot first rolled out part of the agenda has been you are killing grandma by not getting the shot, you are responsible for my health and so on. A person who holds a greater degree of personal belief that they are responsible for society’s health does not jive with my beliefs. I think space and I are on the same page with the belief that if an individual doesn’t want to catch covid then follow the cdc guidance and get the shots. Stay at home, wear 2 masks, don’t be around people, do what you need to do but I’m not responsible for your health because I won’t allow someone to force a shot on me that was highly questionable. @SpaceCoastVol will correct me if I’m wrong on this.
Perfectly said.

I very much mentioned PCP, as far as I know most people dont have a PCN (primary care nurse). Legimately not sure how much the health industry would trust nurses vs doctors on this. And that's not a knock on nurses. They would be much better talk and listen to than nobody or even the CDC making one size fits all determinations, but I have always scheduled my appointments with a doctor.

Yeah really. Anything other than that is forced medical procedures.

Got Mengele?
Me thinks you made a huge leap from promoting vaccines to forced medical procedures. I swear it’s a competition in here to see who can out-cynic/out-conspiracy one another. You’re toward the front of the pack.

Just FYI, that guy is a complete waste of time to respond to, like 3rd grade level off-the-rails rants and incoherent jibberish type stuff... I wish had a screenshot of some of the stuff that mods clean up for him.

I don’t think we’re on the same page here. Ok… Yeah, PCPs are fine, important even. But there are HC professionals (mostly community/public health nurses, but also epidemiologists, biologists, social workers, etc.) whose entire job is to promote health within a population. They could be employed by your city, county, state, religious establishment, civic organization, school… but their purpose is to monitor and assess the overall health and health trends within a given population and try to address any prevailing issues. They also help create emergency preparedness plans as well as addressing communicable diseases within the community.

For instance, in my county there is a high rate of Lyme Disease compared to the rest of the state, so the community health nurse employed by my county has started an education program addressing tick bite prevention & treatment and presents it to rod & gun clubs, local park rangers, bicycling clubs, kayaking groups, schools, and so on.

These individuals are also charged with promoting vaccinations for the wellness of their community. These people aren’t behind some conspiracy to force people to take an unsafe vaccine, sorry. They use evidence based practice to steer public health, and that hasn’t changed during COVID.

That's the way the entire pandemic should have been handled. Give us the facts and suggestions to mitigate then leave the people alone.

There probably was no need to run an intensive vaccine campaign, as just about everyone knew it was available.

But, yeah, if they were to run one they should have been honest about the knows and unknowns and left it up to each individual to decide. Now these campaigns have lost a lot of credibility due to the dishonesty within them. What’s not said is often more important that what is.
