Vaccine Passport

I am fine with that. me being vaccinated was not part of the agreement when I was hired. they are changing their standards, if that means I can no longer work there, so be it.

and I am not even above/below getting the vaccine to get a new job, just as long as that is a stated requirement when I am hired.

Just messing with you.

She saw the email from you and probably didn’t even read it.TDL

Say what? My health information is NOBODY's ****ing business. It is not even my employer's business.

I agree BUT I also firmly believe they have the right to refuse service or terminate an employee for any reason they choose.

Imagine if I was some 1960s homemaker and I didn't get my son the Polio vaccine. I decided I wanted him to get exposed to the disease so I could "increase my families immunity" ...

would I be a negligent mother?

Oh my goodness I just saw this and it is awesome. Serious question, did you really post this and mean it?

Yes any reason. Nobody has the right to service or a job.
I can agree with this if the boss is a founder/owner. If the boss is merely an employee, then I am not sure he should have the right to fire anyone for any reason he deems legitimate. If a Coke employee calls out the CEO as being a dipshit (which is a fact, not an opinion) on a public forum, should said CEO be allowed to fire that employee for that? I think not.

yes the CEO of Coke should be able to fire the employee. I have found that it’s important to have a clearly written and easily understandable employee manual for middle management and supervisors to go by.

Wait a minute. Why should a manual be a governing document? You have said "for any reason". Secretary wore a red dress in and she knows the CEO hates red. Fired. Done.

Yes, I find that perfectly acceptable and if the big boss doesn’t want red dresses worn at work it should be in the employee manual so everyone knows.

You must have been Air Force. The AF has manuals that tell all the pilots what they CAN do. The Navy had manuals that told us what we COUNDN'T do. The Navy way was much better.

I don't know what I ever did to you but saying I must have been AF is low, real low.

Our employee manual has maybe 2 pages of "can't do's" which the vast majority comes from the DOT regs, OSHA ext. I don't believe in stupid rules in the workplace but if you're going to have them spell them out clearly, makes everyone's life easier.

Yeah. Sorry. Please forgive me.

A private business should be allowed to require a customer to disclose private health information.

Can the make them disclose sexual preference and base their willingness to provide services on that fact?

A couple of bakers might want to know...

Dr. Anthony Fauci said in an interview released Monday that the federal government won't be mandating vaccine passports for travel and businesses. The White House has indicated that any potential passports would come from the private sector, with little direct involvement from the government.

Meanwhile, Florida's Republican Governor Ron DeSantis issued an executive order last week banning vaccine passports statewide, and Republican lawmakers in states including Arkansas and Montana are pushing similar measures.

"You could foresee how an independent entity might say, 'Well, we can't be dealing with you unless we know you're vaccinated,'" he said. "But it's not going to be mandated from the federal government."

And again, not the group we were talking about.
In fairness, isn't the at-risk group mostly vaccinated, at this point? (At least, those who want it)

Corollary: we have now hit 400 days and not a single Pediatric (<19 y) death in the Knox Co region (19 counties total, I believe). That includes all the kids with immunodeficiencies, chronic lung disease, congenital heart disease, undergoing cancer/chemo treatment, premies, etc. Really quite unbelievable, and something to be thankful for.
