Vince Dooley Says Derek......

And you think that's because we have less talent and depth at dl. Brilliant analysis. Had nothing to do with poor coaching and a miserable d backfield, did it. Of course Joseph ayres starting at dt is better than couch and McCullers. Give me more knowledge about how the depth and talent in the trenches was better then than now.

You're wrong man. Ayers was a Frosh and played End. Nice try. W had no one else like McCullers but the rest of the line in 12 is no better and Ben Martin is better at End than who we start now. Face it man, your hero blows and left us worse than he found us.

Ayres played DT. Started against either Oregon or lsu. But don't let facts get in the way of insults.
If he didn't start at dt, I will leave the board. Now, your turn to step up.

Don't care about a link. Ayres played quite a bit at dt, as a walkon, and was moved to TE and lost on the depth chart.

Wilcox scheme move faster players inside on certain plays. But I'm correct that in 2010 he was a DE.

What? So ayres played dt because he was a fast end that needed to move inside? That's laughable. He played because there was no depth. Period. Now he is 3rd string te. That explains plenty about our depth at that time, for people that can be objective and know the game, that is.

As a self imployed person and an employer this makes me sick. Paying Fulmer for his service was a far cry from paying for a total failure. Hammy should be sued by the State of Tennessee. Almost everyone else is more likely to be sued for their mistakes than given money.

Dooley soils his name and will not get another significant head coach job for taking this money. He, his father and anyone else who would perform as poorly as he has and hold the employer to a contract is dirt.

Besides suing Hammy, the university should fire Cheeks and anyone else responsible for dd getting 5 or 6 million dollars.

Apparently the Dooleys really have no pride.

It makes me so mad that I want to emplode.

Did you ever watch Boise? Have you seen Washington? Or better yet did you watch UT? Wilcox scheme is all about speed and he routinely moves linemen in to out.

Well the guys is suppose to defend his son no matter what. Derek sucks as a HC though. No.amount of patients would have made that situation any better. People have been citing years for.you to show you were a good coach it never happen nor.it ever will

had nothing to do with Wilcox's scheme. Had to do with no Montori, no Arthur Jeffrey and no Chase Nelson. In other words, no depth, so a walkon had to move move down and got pt because of his effort in practice.

Acting like Wilcox schemed to play Ayres due to his quickness and had a plethora of quality dlinemen to choose from is absurd. He played him because he had to. The depth changed so much there, that they moved him to the other side of the ball.

Where did I say we had a plethora of depth? Where the hell is our depth now? The reality is we're in as bad if not worse shape than when your hero arrived. You were wrong about him when he was here and you're wrong now that he's gone.

That's right KC. I will continue to laugh at people who want to pretend that Dooley was anything but an abject failure.
GA just can't get past how badly DD did. He knows Dooley was a bad hire he tries hard to believe there has to be at least some good in that hire. But there isn't.

It was very apparent that Dooley sucked. You just happen to be wrong about the degree to which he sucked at one part of his job.

Invalid. All but one of those players actually won a title. Peyton is the most decorated QB but he didn't win a championship.

Without Peyton Manning winning all those games in the mid 90s, those insane recruiting classes from 95-97 don't happen . . . but I digress.

My point was, it's silly to separate great players from great coaches because they almost all owe their success to bringing in elite talent.

What part?

The part about whether we're worse now than in 2010. Really doesn't matter though. This is kind of like arguing about how good the tread is on the tires of a bus that's upside down and on fire. Either way it's upside down and on fire.

We are worse than when DD came. No question.

Everyone that approved Dooley's contract should be fired. The amount of his severance pay is absolutely foolish. We were not hiring a coach with a record. We could have hired the Maryville High coach and done better. Today's situation with exorbitant buyouts for failures must stop and these people need to be brought into the real world.

Folks that think a "contract is a contract" justifies stupidity and greed are wrong.

You're right about it not mattering. But I think we're worse than when he showed up. We were worse his 3rd year than his 1st. His best year was year one, both on the field and in recruiting.
I think Jones has a toughr row to hoe than Dooley did.

Yes. We are better on the oline. We have more dline talent but they did not play as well as the players DD inherited. Where would you say we are better at? Not qb, wr, rb, lb or db.

Not sure we can be worse at QB than 2010. Probably not as good at WR, but we'll see. I'll take Lane and Neal over Tauren Poole just for the mere fact that there's two of them. No shot at Nick Reveiz, but there aren't many SEC teams where he'd ever start at MLB. DB was a disaster last year that I hope gets fixed by scheme.

Forgetting the position comparisons, I think just having 80 on scholarship vs the 65-70 we had when Dooley got here makes a difference.

DD inherited TB who is better than any qb on the roster. DD inherited BB. If he was a better , less arrogant coach he could have kept him. WR we were way better. Db also. Alot of players left because they came to play for a coach that had us going in the right direction but didn't want to play for a loser from the WAC. He lost alot of talebt he inherited. BB, JJ, AD etc.
