VN Article: Tennessee Two-fer Tuesday

Bam & LV  both yall should chill.

let it go, neither of you are bout to change the other's mind :dunno:

truce? :peace2:

Dooley does seem to be spotting the speed and strength among three star plars. Need some four and five star recruits too.

I'm gonna clear this up real quick (thanks to I4Jay)....

All I'm saying is if we want to compete in the SEC, we cannot take a bunch of guys that are not going to match up with what our opponents are putting out on the field. Unless you actually believe our coaching staff can out-coach Saban and Meyer's staffs, we need to get equal or better-than players. It really is common sense. Now, I understand right now UT isn't one of the top 10 football programs in the nation.... maybe not even top 15-20 considering all that has happened. But as much as I hate Lane Kiffin with a passion, he was right about something. I don't care how low you are on numbers. There's NO reason to take players that you may end up covering up with future recruits. The only time you would take those types of players are towards NSD when you've slow played them. I think our recruiting WILL pick up. We haven't even played a game yet so alot of players are waiting to see what our offense/defense looks like. I understand all that. I'm simply saying taking okay prospects in May/June isn't going to get us where we want to be. If you guys are satisfied with 8-4, 7-5... we can do that with mid-level prospects.

If asked, would you trade our entire roster for USC's, would you? If you say no because "these are OUR boys!!" then you're a koolaid drinker and thus why we are arguing. If you say yes, then you can see where I'm coming from. I don't expect it to all happen now. But as the great Pat Summit is quoted as saying "You can't take a mule to the Kentucky Derby."

It's all about the Joes not the Xs and Os.

Peace, love, and GBO

Im thinking a max age requirement. you seem like a 80 year old man whose nurse forget to change your diaper

hahaha, just real quick then you're going on ignore....

"forgot" would've probably worked better, but looking at the sentence as a whole... ahhh forget it.

edit: Buddhavol, you are now on my ignore list so I will not be able to read whatever childish, incoherent sentence you come up with next. Have fun with that.

Look at my join date ...i've been here way longer than you...

I remember the bet because it was a tool move on your part...it took you months to live to your end of it...you only did after several posters drilled you for it...

It's not hard to remember douchebaggery such as that

I'd love for you to go back and find where it took me months to do this.... if that was the case I'd still have the sig up. It was up from Jan 3rd to April 3rd. Exactly 3 months.

Length of membership has nothing to do with original ideology. Sorry I don't just accept what Rivals tells me to accept as a ratings system. You never answered my question: Do you really put stock in the difference between 5.6 rated player and a 5.7 rated player? Yes or No.

Answer is no.

Convo over.

Par for the course.

Again, all you have is a sig picture and smileys to reply with. Can't show me where Dooley's staff has out-recruited Kiffin's staff in side-by-side comparison? At least if you argued intelligently I'd respect you, but all you are to me is a middle man. You hear/read it, you post it on this site.

So you admit you use something you made up that you are able to adjust as you see fit and you think thats a legit method to use in a discussion...brilliant!

Yes, I made up "bad, fair, and good" as well as "low, medium, and high" among other 3-level rating systems. I'll take full credit for that if you want to give it to me.

lol is that all I do haha? k.

I know it pains you that I continually own you, but you bring it on yourself.

Kiffin's 2009 Class- #10
Dooley's 2010 Class- #9
You can spin that however you want to, but that is a FACT bro.

Jacques Smith- 4star, legit player, early enrollee
JC Copeland- 4star that nobody wanted at tyhe time, turned legit
Jose Jose- obese, troublemaking OL nobody wanted, was garbage according to Michael Langston
Bruce Irvin- could not qualify, had 0 other offers at the time
Pat Harris- could not qualify, never got another offer
Risean broussard- could not qualify

Christian Harris- has no other offers, early enrollee
Alan Posey- solid offer list, so much better than Jose it isn't funny, early enrollee
Andrew Power- has a better offer list than Irvin and Harris did combined when they committed, early enrollee
Tom Smith- ran for 1,600 yards and 27 TDs in the toughest division in the US (6A FL), 2nd best big back in FL according to Michael Langston, early enrollee
Brian Randolph- Monte offered him in June 2009, was an AA as a soph and considered the best Safety in GA, may be an early enrollee

No question which group is better.

Just give it a rest man. most have you on ignore anyways.

Stating my length of membership was in response to you inferring that I popped up out of nowhere...

The bet was James wouldn't commit here so when he did you gave the run around about how he hadn't signed which allowed you to avoid putting up the sig for 3 months...after several posters gave you hell about it...

And the answer to your last question is yes....I put much more stock in Rivals ratings...even their decision to break it down to decimels....than I put in the "MrBamSeyDu Self Serving and Self Adjusting Rating System"

Now the convo is over

BOOM!

Say a prayer and then just push the button....

HAHAHAHAHA "Dooley's class" 2010!!!! I love it LV!!!

Are you telling me if Kiffin hadn't left his class wouldn't have been rated higher???? And are you seriously calling it "Dooley's class" when we had THAT many mid-term enrollees already on campus from the previous staff.

HAHAHA, THEN you go and list players that DIDN'T get into UT??? As if you wouldn't have wanted Bruce Irvin, Harris, and (maybe even) Broussard. You also failed to list the players that Dooley COULDN'T keep! Brandon Willis. Glen Stanley (or could he not "make it in"?) Stanley followed KIFFIN to USC. Kenbrell Thompkins didn't want anything to do with Dooley either. JC Copeland??? You're proving my point!!! He would've been a fairly solid get. But he left for LSU when we hired Dooley!!!!

To the "BOOM" guy above: don't be a sheep. Listen to the facts. That was Kiffin's class, Dooley just added on to it.

As for being put on ignore, message boarders ignoring the truth can ignore me all they want. If it were me, I'd rather be able to hear multiple perspectives rather than just koolaid drinkers.

Why don't you put me on ignore LV? Please. You'd be doing me a favor. Your fanbase can BOOM all they want, but listing players that couldn't qualify??? And throwing out Jose Jose? I mean really? I remember you bashing Dooley taking Dontavis Sapp. Don't act like you didn't.

Again....

<--- Dooley recruit.

Let's just pick it up. GBO.

Yes, I did wait on James to get to campus. Because he didn't SIGN!! He was an EE!!! Thus the reason I waited and I stated that as the reason and LV was cool with it.

I'm cool with you man, we just disagree on the best way to rate players talent... that's all. I don't see how you can take decimal point rating system seriously. What if Rivals started going to a hundredth-decimal system?? Would you take that seriously? (i.e. Brian Randolph 3.65, Tom Smith 3.73) How could you? I would just rather say Kasen Williams - high level prospect, Javares McRoy - mid level prospect, Tray Becton - low level prospect.

I wasn't saying you were a n00b I was just saying where did you come from in the argument.

how bout this one:

mrbamsig.jpg

Why does everyone seem to live in the past here? All he Bam is saying is that at THIS point in the year Kiffin was ahead of where Dooley is. He stated facts, and the rest of you ALL wrap your mouths around LV's cod. I respect info that LV brings here but I'm sorry, at this point in time last year not only was Kiffin ahead of Dooley in recruiting, he actually had 100% of VOL FANS excited about football again.

Can you honestly say that 100% are still as excited as they were this time last year? And please.. don't qoute the Fulmerites. They would have been glad to see Dan Brooks named HC since he's a good ole boy.

ps airvol3, please run head first into a brick wall as fast as you can. you are the worst poster since oregon trail.

Yes. I was skeptical about CLK too... just watching what he was doing both good and bad. FTR, that tingle that ran up your leg for Kiffin didn't mean that he was destined for greatness or was going to get the job done.

The "excitement" of many fans and possibly recruits is lower precisely because of what Kiffin did. I see things I do not like about Dooley and others I do. I think his prospects for success are relatively low primarily due to the situation he inherited. But he did a very good job finishing off the '10 class. He and his staff are doing a very good job of finding talent and getting ahead of some of the more elite programs in finding guys. It seems that this staffs' ability to evaluate is being validated more often by Meyer and Saban than the last staffs'.

Quality contribution to the info on the board.:eek:k:
