None of which has anything to do with getting guys into school initially. I'd hope Fullerton has a good APR. My neighbor's basset hound could make satisfactory academic progress at a Big West school.Tennessee APR:

His not having a degree means no self respecting institution of higher learning should be hiring him as their head coach. You gotta work with what ya got Hat. There's a school in Serrano's conference that's in trouble, but it's not his. There's a school in the big east that's in trouble in basketball, but it's not a problem for Martin. I see what your saying. Him not having a degree means he can't recruit kids good enough to beat Vandy and Corbin's kids. Is that it?
Or is it this? You don't want anybody coaching at UT with out a degree because the Big 10 says, the only reason the SEC wins is because anybody can get in? They already do.
I hope you are asking that in jest.
I'm assuming it's already been posted, but I just saw that Coach Chad Holbrook will be interviewing for the job on Monday.

Do you hire for a university? If not, I don't care in the least what you think about UT actually behaving like an institution of higher learning and demanding employees have degrees. No I am not. If the guy is the most qualified (through experience and results) a degree makes no difference. I do alot of hiring and over the last several years I have become less and less impressed with the paper. A proven track record of results means much more.
Not having a legit degree certainly doesn't set a good example for student athletes. Especially when only 1 in 5 have a shot at a pro contract.
I'm not sure I would like the distinction of being the only school in the SEC with a head coach who doesn't have a college degree.
If he works toward his degree I guess it would be acceptable. If Hamilton changes the job description we look like clowns.
