VN, help! Manning vs. Brady (long but worth it)

And then Andrew Luck won 11 games with almost the same exact pieces, as a rookie no less.

Btw you will never sway people with regular season wins, in fact that will sway more people to the choked argument since they were so good during the regular season. Cause basically you are saying he is good enough to carry them in the season but not the playoffs. That or they won a lot of games because of beating up on lesser teams.

Stick with Hacksaws stats argument.

Not true. Team was quite a bit different, not to mention I think they had a somewhat weak schedule coming off a 2-win season.

So if Manning was padding his regular season record by beating up on lesser teams does that mean Montana was losing to lesser teams? I think point goes to Manning on that one.

Yeah, remember when you said this? He's 3-3 in close playoff games, yet you act like he's in a league of his own in that regard.

So with Montana it's about what he does in the playoffs, but for Manning its regular season wins? Gotcha.

No comment to all the experts and ex players not understanding there is more to winning?

That's totally what I was going to say. I guess I don't even need to participate in this conversation.

First it was in question form. Second You keep bringing up Joe's 3-3 playoffs and talk about Manning's regular season. Whats Joe's regular season winning % vs his playoff winning %? Now, what's Mannings?

He had some great performances, no doubt. But he had a LOT of help. I'm sure he'd be the first to admit that. If he didn't have that great team around him, he might have had to take a few more risks and he might not have looked as solid. A lot of really good QBs have looked worse trying to win with teams that weren't as good as Joe's.

Again I agree and totally get what you are saying. Either way it's hard to ignore his pretty much.flawless SB appearances.

You can compare whatever stats you want. If Joe didn't have his playoff results that he has, nobody would think he is an all-time great, which is why I am bringing up where he faltered in the playoffs.

Manning has unparalleled statistical success.
Manning has unparalleled regular season success.

Montana has 4 SBs. So does Bradshaw.

Bradshaw had a hall of fame defense. And once again I'm not arguing Joe's championships though I could, I'm arguing his performance in those games.

Yay for the regular season! Cause people remember who had the best record in the 70's. At least you are on the right track with stats.

In all seriousness I can't continue this conversation, this game has me all kinds of pissed off. Maybe we can finish it later, I can't handle anymore of Worley at QB.

FYI, just wanted to follow up and show that I was right when I claimed Manning's Colts were more similar to the 2011 roster than Luck's:

Luck's 2012 Colts had 11 guys who started at least 4 games both in 2011 and 2012.

Manning's 2010 Colts had 20 guys who started at least 4 games both in 2010 and 2011.

I'm not playing that game. You asked me why I'm talking about the playoffs. I'm not asking "what if he didn't do well in the playoffs?". When I said "if" all I was doing was giving you my reasoning for pointing out when he didn't do well in the playoffs. WTF

You said if he didn't win the super bowls people wouldn't consider him great. Thats a pointless argument.

Honestly though, sorry but I don't care anymore, we suck and I'm tired of sucking. This team is painful to watch

I love you, but you seem illiterate at times. Did you not read what I just wrote? The point is not about "if" he failed it's about WHEN he failed!

I didn't even understand your point, to tell you the truth. Nor do I feel the need to address everything you every say.

Of course you don't, I've figured out the way you discuss stuff. I enjoy debating various things with you, but you have a very distinct pattern. Lol

Oh lord. Did you not say if he doesn't have the playoff success he has, nobody views him as an all time great? That is a pointless thing to say cause he had the success. I understand his failures, hell I said earlier the reason people don't pay attention to those is because of his success. I love you too, bro hug? Lol

Btw I have a distinct pattern as well, I get bored and start joking.

We are both hard headed and will not really budge much, which makes for good short burst discussions. But after awhile they become very cyclical and boring.

How many times are you going to bring this up? Do you need me to clarify the position again? You are taking one f-ing word ("if") and derailing the entire conversation.

And oh yeah, the Colts were a dropped Hail Mary away from going to the Super Bowl three years before they drafted Manning.

What was the Colts' record the season before Manning came? What was the Pats' record? When those two QBs got hurt, which team won 11 games and which one won 2?
