Vols in Summer Leagues Across Continent

Literally, the only Vol in action tonight, in the lower 48 anyway, is Andrew Lee, playing 1st and batting 9th.

@KendallRogersPG: Have been informed that @Vol_Baseball asst/recruiting coordinator Bill Mosiello is leaving to pursue another coaching opportunity #Vols #SEC

@KendallRogersPG: #Vols lose experience in Mosiello, but look for #UT to go younger with this hire -- Kevin Schnall (#UCF), Brad Bohannon (#UK) come to mind.

I don't know what to think...can you explain.

I heard his name a few days ago that is why I posted good news was coming. Not sure he takes it but he is an elite recruiter IMO. Recruiting to Kentucky is far from easy and he has done a heck of a job there

You should start a thread on this. Be interesting to hear folks opinion. Way to bring the scoop! Where is Moselio going?

Gonna be hard to be interested in the game tonight after the news...

Simcox batting 1st and playing SS

Lead off, drag bunt for a single!

Simcox K's w/ runners on the corners for out 3.

AJ gives it a ride to LF, not long enough though.

Ground out 1-3

AJ with a HUGE DBL PLAY ball!

Stew in LF, batting clean up.

Sac Fly RBI scores AJ

Flies out LF

Stewie with an RBI TRIPLE! HIS 18TH RBI!

Stew goes down swinging.

Bot. 8, Miners 2. Bucs 1

The walks really scare me. Free pass have a way of coming back and biting you.

I've been away for a few hours and big news has broken. Really hope we can land a good recruiter with this hire.

7/1 Wrap Up.

The Matsu Miners just cannot get past the Anchorage Bucs. They've now lost 5 games, 3 straight, versus what PG ranks as the 7th best team in summer ball. Tonight was a heartbreaker as was the OT game a couple days ago, the one Bettencourt pitched. It was as much like watching the Vols as can be imagined.

Stewart is the shining light, but he's all on his own as Simcox is in the midst of a slump.

Not much more to report as every east coast team was either off or rained out.

I hesitate to bring up the news of Mosiello's move to TCU along with losing the Director of BB Ops, for fear that the discussion will take place here rather than the other thread.

For now, I'll only ask one question. How is it a good thing to lose Coach Mo to a powerhouse like TCU?

I have a whole lot of questions about the move, but I'll ask those else where.

I wish them both the best and thank them for their time at UT.

GBO!

It would appear that Maddox to the SLO Blues is a done deal.

If it weren't for twitter (which I've never signed up for) and VN, I wouldn't know anything at all. Seems like UT could do a better job informing fans and players alike.

Agree. But don't let something negative happen or else John Adams and KNS will be all over it like flies on poo. The local media (primarily KNS) IMO is the main force driving the negativity surrounding all of our sports programs. Mike Strange is a good writer IMO, but he does hoops. But the fact that a Metro with 600k people can't get coverage for their baseball team is sad.
