War in Ukraine

Heard there was a former special forces operator killed in Ukraine....... Reached out to my brothers friend (former operator) who was the one who told me some retired guys were on the ground last year. States this was one of them he was familiar with.

He also shared with me that they are aware of other foreign operators, not American, fighting with Russian forces. Another tidbit he shared...... They are starting to see some air support for the first time.

Rare photo of a secret operator training facility.

So much for our Patriot air defense system. I see a few hundred million $$ went up in smoke in Kiev lastnight.

  • US inspects damage: US inspectors found minimal damage to a Patriot air defense system following a Russian missile attack near Kyiv on Tuesday. The system is still operational and will not need to be removed from the battlefield for repairs, US officials confirmed.

The real number is very likely a tenth of that.

And what are the numbers for the Kyiv Regime?
just the loss of life of the equipment too?

Its pretty clear Russian tanks have suffered a lot. We have visual evidence for pretty much every downed aircraft (not drones), so that seems pretty secure too.

I don't see how you can think the loss of life is 1/10th without radically adjusting the equipment losses too.

as tvolsfan said, if they were only losing 1/10th they wouldn't be conscripting and enlarging their force 3x. I would also expect them to be able to take Bakhmut and actually hold it instead of running away from some scouts.

What difference does it make if they hit launchers or radars? It is all an integrated system and the Ukrainians don't have means of easily replacing either.

When done correctly, equipment is dispersed making it harder to destroy everything with one strike. Better to lose one launcher than to lose a radar or control van (with operators) controlling multiple launchers. Losing a launcher cripples the site; losing the ability to search, target, and direct puts you out of business.
