The reality is that the weapons Russia dreamed up in the 2010s were still just attempts to counter or copy our tech from the 70s.
Well, that's what commies do. Free thinkers and free doers are what makes the world go round. Those in a closed society or closed mind set like communism/socialism don't get the opportunity to think freely and develop things like people in the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Australia for example. Think the Chinese military is some kind of invincible force that can smash western armies? I think not.
Sloppy Joe is going to get the US further entangled in all of this….
‘Big step’: U.S. joins major effort to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16s, other jets
When’s Ukraine going to get off their ass and use all of this “aid” we’ve given them? We’ve been hearing about this spring offensive for months, hello it’s spring let’s kill some Russians so we can cut then money pump off.
Well, it appears the Patriot system was damaged severely or destroyed, else, they wouldn't now be pivoting to sending Iron Dome. When done correctly, equipment is dispersed making it harder to destroy everything with one strike. Better to lose one launcher than to lose a radar or control van (with operators) controlling multiple launchers. Losing a launcher cripples the site; losing the ability to search, target, and direct puts you out of business.
Gen. Karbler said that among two Iron Dome batteries in US inventories, one is ready to go if needed:
“One completed new equipment training, new equipment fielding. It is prepared for deployment. The other one is wrapping up its new equipment training right now. So the army does have one available for deployment if we get a request,” he said.
Ukraine is a vast territory being attacked by Russian aerial bombardments from multiple sides, and even from the Black Sea. The Jerusalem Post also noted analysis this week--
“If Israel needs 10 or more Iron Domes to properly defend itself, Ukraine would need dozens or more, which simply do not exist.”

A year? You called it. I will say training takes the better part of one year, give or take depending on aircraft type. Going to be a while before UKR pilots are proficient in F16s, assuming some aren’t already in the states training on them. Seems like finding other countries willing to send Migs or SUs would expedite matters.
Bakhmut alone may end up being worse for Russia than the entire Vietnam war was for the US.
And when the F-16s fail to change the direction of the conflict, what do we do next? Go to the negotiating table or continue to escalate?
Quit complaining, you'e not on the ground there so you don't really know what conditions are. But we know you don't support aid to Ukraine anyway.
Here's something to help explain what's going on.
Why Ukraine's spring offensive still hasn't begun — with summer just weeks away
Send your son or grandchildren to join the fight when the US gets pulled into the conflict.
Mission creep is real. I asked you before when we sent in Patriots and now F-16s... what is the next step if these weapons are not the gamechangers that you all hope for? Do we negotiate a peace deal or do we escalate? Looks like you are in the crowd that supports the "whatever it takes" strategy. So right now, we are moving in the direction of a direct conflict between NATO and Russia. It likely will not be the US necessarily with boots on the ground, but it will likely be Poland, Germany, The Baltic States and/or Romania.A year into the war and we haven't gotten dragged in. Stop parroting Russian talking points about a larger conflict.
Time to throw another $50 billion...
The end of Ukraine aid is rapidly approaching. Reupping it won’t be easy
Just three days after Politico reported the latest authorization of military aid to Ukraine was on pace to run out in mid-summer, the Pentagon on Thursday disclosed it had made an accounting error with previous weapon shipments, overvaluing them by about $3 billion.
And just like that, the Pentagon says it's now free to hand over another $3 billion in weapons, ammunition and supplies without asking Congress for approval.
