i think putin would decline, babble about trying to join NATO in the past and the mean americans turned him down.

those countries sympathetic to Russia would feign shock and act like they don't know russia refused to submit an application like everyone else that wants to join

those sympathetic to NATO would roll their eyes and grumble something inaudible

NATO will do what we tell them to do, what choices do they have?

For Russia they would get guaranteed security and allies against China and one day China is going to take back the parts of Russia they believe is theirs.

In the scheme of the entirety of Russian history, the USSR is a very brief part. However, it will always be remember because of the win over Nazi Germany and for it being the first nation into space. As time went on, it accomplished less and fell a part.

Wow, it is scary how much we think a like lately with our posts. Exactly my thoughts regarding the situation with Russia to a teeth. China is the real winner if this war continues.

Doubt. They're called tactical nuclear weapons. Everyone knows this, as does the U.S. See Congressional Record from the 90s.... that is why they (neocons, cia) did mission creep i.e. pawns.

There is no real easy off-ramp to this.... the neocons did a number. Russia and the U.S. are sitting around talking but there is no solution. They could kill the midget and the Ukrainians could unconditional surrender... .if I was Russia I would accept and tell them to all go to Poland. Nobody wants the responsibility and the bill that is Western Ukraine.

We'll see, but that is why there really isn't any proposal out even after years. Lots of people still probably need to go.

It would make NATO significantly more powerful. But I don't think NATO is going to welcome Russia, and I don't think Russia is going to give up it's sights on former satellites or at least gaining pieces of them. If they join NATO you almost have to welcome the other further satellites to buffer Russian neighbors who are skeptical..........a lot of political hot pieces to navigate there.

it was Nov 2024..that JD speech was one of the best I ever heard. And then Hegseth told them to Grow Up a couple weeks ago and German dude in Munich last week cried on stage. Euro trash.

Ol’ Bubba Clinton really f’d the Ukrainians. Lying to them that they had a “guarantee,” and then deliberately translating the word into English as “assurance.” Well, Bubba did assure them, but they got no guarantee. Prolly said “better put some ice on that,” as he walked off.

Now Biden has been launching US missiles through proxies into Russia. We definitely need face to face bilateral meetings to see if the mess can be cleaned up. Imagine if Russia were firing missiles into the U.S.

Tactical nuclear weapons is a death warrant for humanity. Everyone knows, even tactical nuclear weapons all but ensures MAD.
