War in Ukraine

He's a fool if his premise is that Russian air force is on par with that of the US. NATO and the US would own the sky.

We could have a separate debate about if it would be wise. But this guy honestly sounds like a stooge in the two videos I've seen. Sounds like a guy trying to sound smart who's driving an obvious agenda.

Secret Airfield near Ukrainian border is getting 17 flights of weapons A DAY as West sends in 17,000 anti-tank missiles: Psaki admits there are 'challenges' getting fighter jets including Soviet-era MiG-29s to Zelensky to bolster firepower

The Pentagon has managed to rush deliveries of munitions to assist the Ukrainian resistance to the Russian invasion with a steady stream of flights to neighboring countries – with weapons getting into the hands of the military.

This includes landing as many as 17 planes a day in one undisclosed country near the border.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley visited an undisclosed airfield near the border where he was able to inspect the historic effort to arm Ukraine as it seeks to counter Russia's invasion, CNN reported.

Looks like the Russians are ready to declare us a belligerent if we keep shippin weapons into Ukraine, which Biden cannot stop doing without assuring massive losses for his party in the midterms. Not sure how we don’t wind up at war.

Biden is more worried about his assets in Ukraine and the midterms than he is with the actual citizens and country of Ukraine.

2022 ACMs Host Dolly Parton dedicates 'entire show' to Ukraine: 'I want us to send our love and hope'

The country legend dedicated the entire 2022 ACMs 'to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine'

Dolly Parton was with a heavy heart on Monday while co-hosting the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMs).

The "Heartstrings" star, 76, delivered an opening monologue in which she dedicated the "entire show" to Ukraine, asking everyone to send their prayers to the people of Ukraine in the midst of Russia's invasion.

After watching how all this has played out I do not see any way that someone could think Russia's military is on par.
In my lifetime, I've seen rice farmers in SE Asia and cave dwellers in Afghanistan humiliate this country. Now we are to believe that a country with nuclear weapons and far better technology than the usual 3rd World countries we push around is not on par...

Makes me wonder if a man portable ATW basically trumps a tank these days. They are not outranged at 2.5 miles and can pop up anywhere, so hold stealth advantage. We saw it with lousy range RPGs in Iraq, but Javlins are exponentially better penetrating and farther ranged. Why the tanks must have supporting dismounted infantry

Absolutely, the type of warfare they are fighting..... Conventional, comes down to better supplied, better trained, better lead army wins. Would you not agree?

Surely you understand the differences in warfare, objectives etc.

Depends on a ton of factors. Do I believe our rules of engagement are vastly different? Yes. Will comrade RAS? No. But invading someone's else's land is a damn problem. No matter the circumstances. I am not shocked they are struggling. And I am not convinced we wouldn't too. If Vlad wanted to carpet bomb just for land he could have done so already. I do see this being his "Afghanistan" but far worse. They are international pariahs now

From what the world has seen......yes. Humiliated in Afghanistan is a real stretch. We could have turned that entire country to rubble if we wanted. Why don't you just move to Russia since you think so highly of them.

All TV "news" agencies went to crap the moment they started working as for-profit entities. When they did that, they only cared about ratings and being first-the truth took a back seat to inflammatory headlines and stories. Don't blame Fox for this either, it started way before Fox started a news channel. Then all news sources were consolidated to the point where we only have 4-6 companies running everything. The propaganda now flows with very little pushback or responsibility. Truly scary if you think about.

Think about the impact of cable TV and space to fill with new channels. I'm going back to the 70s in this regard. CNN with all news all the time ... even if we have to make some of it. MTV and VH1 literally did kill the radio star. Music is an audio form; when they put it in video form to fill cable channels, it changed music forever ... and not for the better. Sometimes there literally is too much of a good thing.

A heavily armed, dedicated populace is just a nightmare for an invading army, unless the aggressor is willing to decimate cities with large armaments.

I'm starting to believe that the only way Russia successfully takes Ukraine is by turning it into an exorbitantly expensive rebuilding project. With severe economic sanctions in place, it really might not be worth their effort.

I certainly hope this is true and Putin understands that.
