We are behind on this current class....

when I leave my job I'm not allowed to take my stuff with me. It is property of my employer

This isn't exactly a corporate identity PJ, and yes people take their personal files with them when they leave a job or new ownership takes over. All that data that Kiffin amassed, Kiffin took most of it with him, except all the basic stuff I'm sure.

I can't believe that some of you would think that Kiffin would be kind enough to leave all the data they collected on this class as a favor to the next coach. That's FREAKING hilarious.

these aren't personal files they are files related to a $100mil "corporation". Yes I can take my wedding pic with me when I leave but I can't grab my Rolodex and pricing info for all customers I deal with. Technically it is theft

big difference in expecting it and it being ethical. Not to mention leaving a couple peeps behind to grab the stuff he missed

Yeah, well those expecting Kiffin to do anything nice, or be ethical for any reason in recruiting, will surely make themselves crazy trying to convince themselves he cared at all about UT or anything related to UT. He would soon burn the office down, than to help out anyone that's not him.

Hate to say it, but I would have done the exact same thing in Kiffin's situation. College football is a business.

You can't take the hardwired computer with you, but I've never heard of a corporation asking you to turn in your rolodex. It's not necessarily the "hard" info he took with him, it's the relationships and past communication he took with him. That's 1,000x hard to replace.

Your enmity towards Kiffin is interesting.

I supported Kiffin more than most on this board when he was here, but if you can't see that he didn't care about UT one iota and would soon see us do down in flames than succeed when he left, then your EXTREMELY naive. If you also believe that we weren't heading down that slippery NCAA road, you are VERY naive as well. The NCAA hasn't done anything with any of that info yet either, that's related to hostess-gate. We better hope that it was a one time incident.

But you seem to imply files on that computer are fair game. My company will have security there to escort you out of the building before your mtg is over with your boss. Access to data is a huge issue at large companies. And yes contact info is treated the same way whether it's on your rolodex, cell phone or outlook. Doesn't mean you can't call those people when you leave but don't expect your old company to help you in your future job.

which is why Hamilton should have had a locksmith in the football offices within minutes of Kiffin letting him know he was leaving. Not to mention a couple of security guards to help. If they took any hard copies of work done at UT then that's on the AD.

Please. The only road we were on with Kiffin was the one to a BCS bowl.

I don't care what Kiffin thinks about UT. The way those idiots acted on campus with the mattress burning/supposed death threats/et al would sour my thoughts, too. His job was head coach and he did it exceptionally well. Just so happens a more prestigious job opened unexpectedly.

PJ, Kiffin sprang this on us, it's not like it was a well thought out process. He had O in there getting everything he could. O also tampered with our EE's. Kiffin is a snake, and O is his pimp. If people want to continue to ride their jocks, then feel free too. I am a UT fan, and after them hanging all that USC crap in our football complex, that just sealed the deal for me to hate him even more. With that said, I fully supported them while they were here, because that's who our coaches were, even though I knew in the back of my mind what we were getting ourselves in to.

Yeah, if the way the people acted on campus doesn't tell you what Kiffin thought about UT, then nothing will. Your just a troll anyways, so I don't expect you to know anything about my favorite school without visiting Google anyways. Off to ignore with you.

and everyone knew he was a snake from day 1 but he was our snake at the time. All the more reason to have locked his sorry ass out of UT and mailed his personal belongings to USC. I would have also dropped a deuce in the box before sealing it up but that's just me

Hard to be in touch with someone you know nothing about, wouldn't you agree??

I would agree with that. But, I don't think he knew nothing about this kid or Maclain. Like I said, Kiffin didn't take everyone with him to USC.

Oh no doubt, but he KNEW that if he took that job this year, that it would have to be done in a way that prevented us from locking his sorry ass out. I will always say that Kiffin is an idiot, but it's not because he's dumb per say. I'm sure that O conspired with him before he told anyone anything about leaving to take the job. It all happened within about 2 hours. Did you ever see the media meeting before he did that presser to announce he was leaving?? That was PURE gold about how much of a snake he was.

That's more to do with intellectual property and non-compete clauses.

We hadn't even evaluated him before he came down. So, we didn't know anything about him at all. You have to start the evaluation process in recruiting before you form an opinion about how much communication you start involving with certain prospects.

Unfortunately, on the national radar, that incident did look worse for UT than it did for CLK.
