We need a quarterback!!!!!

Why it is so hard to believe that not all Vols think LK was a "great hire"? Why is it a "fight" just because I don't agree with you? I'm simply pointing out that I believe LK is wrong in his approach to (not) recruiting a QB.

Sabanocchio, you may believe in LK now, but I hate to break it to you.......hiring him was a mistake. A mistake that will take us yrs to recover from. You will be calling for his head in a year (2 at the most). Then you can find me an apologize.

A mistake? I think with the prospects of bringing in Monte, a proven recruiter, and a guy that has upside, to not hire him would have been a grave mistake. Even if he doesn't succeed, it still was the right decision to make. So you will never win this battle. People smarter than you and with a better grasp of the candidates chose Kiffin off of a very short list of very much unproven candidates. They made the right decision. No one can predict the future. Butch Davis could have come here and gotten torn apart in the SEC like the rest of the NFL did to him while he was with the Browns. You have no way of knowing, so let it go.

Let's pretend he tells Boyd that he would love for him to come. Boyd gets here and does not sniff the field, and gets angry because he is asked to move to receiver. He complains, slanders CLK and UT...you think for one second that may not ruin a relationship with anyone else that comes out of the Hampton,VA area?

Uh, you don't really have to pretend......this kind of thing happens in all positions, like, all the time, probably at every school, probably every year

Since LK is such a "players coach", he should be able to handle it.

No one needs to apologize to you. If you had a halfway decent argument, I'd feel compelled to listen. You present your case like a child. Kiffin is recruiting QBs, he just wasn't interested in the one Fulmer already had and there really aren't any satisfactory candidates that aren't already firmly committed to other schools.

Shows what little you know. His MO at USC AND at Oakland was he was a players coach.

And then what is he going to tell recruits when they ask him why he lied to Boyd? How is he going to go into Virginia and recruit Boyd's bros that he grew up playing with when he tells them that Kiffin didn't fulfill his promise to him? And worse, what about all the guys that don't even give him the opportunity to answer that question, but automatically count the Vols out? What good does it do to waste a scholly on a guy that may or may not ever work out at another position, when you know you don't want him to play QB? Why, when you are already slated to bring in a top receiving class, would you do that? Why do you want us to run an unethical recruiting campaign? Do you not love and respect your university?

They made the right decision.

 And you're basing that on .............??

Is it not obvious to you that LK is going to get his @ss handed to him by Meyer, Richt, & Saban on a yearly basis?

I don't know what you guys are smoking in here, but it has made you completely delusional.

Throwing in the insults really adds depth to your argument. And they're really original insults too.

I'd say the "clowns" will be identified halfway into the '09 season. But you'll be denying you ever thought it was a good hire.

Since you are certain of EVERYTHING, how many games do you think we will win next year?

No I'll stand by the hire next year, and also stand by the FACT that you are a clown that knows nothing about football, or any other organized sport for that matter.

I'm not the experienced poster that many of you are, and I usually avoid these forums due to the constant back & forth between the negative trolls that dominate these posts & those educated people that actually look to these sites to learn something about UT athletics!
IF YOU SIMPLY IGNORE these Troll Bags (like Vol5150) then they will move on to somewhere that somebody WILL Validate their constant rants! Maybe he & the rest of his negative trolls can go back to their 'World of Witchcraft' battles or yell 'Meatloaf' from their couch so that their Mom can bring them some food so that they never miss one of your replies to their nonsense! But when you truely want a girl to stop contacting you, YOU DON'T ANSWER or REPLY TO THEIR CALLS, TEXTS, EMAILS, ETC. SO PLEASE Ignore these fools & GET BACK TO THE REASON I CLICKED ON THIS LINK IN THE 1st PLACE!!

4-8 possibly, 6-6 at best.

6-6. Well to show you how our view of reality differs, I think we will win 7 games. I'm not hedging. 7 games.

You do realize that Nick Saban went 6-6 his first year at Bama too, right? And you know what happened the next. I think it will take 3 years and we will be back to competing with Florida, UGA, and Bama on a regular basis. And with that I am done.

But there is a big difference between Saban and LK:

1 National Championship & 2 SEC Titles...to be exact.

Bama knew they were hiring a winner. We, um......., well we are left to hope and pray.

I have played, coached, or taught more sports than you have watched.

I tried to turn over a new leaf and see everyone's point of view and be tolerant...but I give up. You are the newest member to my ignore list....

Congrats.

I think 7 or 8.
Lane has more to work with than Saban did when he got to Bama.
