Please feel free to move down and fill in the empty seats.

I could do without the 'AA problems myself...but I dont see anything wrong with showing school spirit.
Havent been on VN long enough to know...so was it the bodypainting incedent or the 'AA probs when you started calling coach Pearl "clown",ect...?
Well before Bruce and the bodypainting incident, Hat hated him. It starts with Deon Thomas telling Bruce that he really wanted to go to Iowa but the money from Illinois was just too good. Hat thinks that it is okay to be a huge cheater and to lie to the NCAA (see his love for Jim Calhoun and Lute Olson) but it is never okay to snitch and pathetic to get caught lying.
He also was/is personally jealous of the man and used to post about watching Pearl cavort with waitresses.
The board has turned for the good, as even his staunchest defenders (there were 4 or 5) have gotten tired of his stick with one exception (a guy who changed his name after his brilliance created my signature).
Funny how that works. Of course, I could spend my time concocting lies about fictitious dinners at Calhoun's with imaginary USC offensive linemen. Who's to say how a man should spend his days?Pretty sure it had something to do with Pearl pretending to be a "protector of integrity" in his sport while conspiring to snitch in order to steal a recruit.

I typically like your input hat, even if I disagree with it from time to time; however, that is the most asinine comment I have seen you make on this website. I feel like its circa 1996 and the sp fans over at listessa are calling everyone a "poseur" because their favorite album is mellon collie and the infinite sadness.
I think the success of the program is directly tied to the quantity not necessarily the quality of our apparent fan base. I would welcome an explanation as to why someone thinks this isn't the case.

Not at all what I'm saying. I, unlike the Pearl As Messiah crowd, believe in Tennessee basketball. The idiot fringe and trash worshippers I'm talking about will ultimately be replaced by people who actually care about the program. That will happen far quicker than most anticipate. I'm just saying I'm glad the phonies, the clueless, and the Cult Of Pearl won't be around anymore.
You mean having an AD so weak minded he can be told what to do by guys like the Pumps is a bad thing? Who knew?I agree. I would like to see the Vol Nation become more educated in the sport. So many of our fans follow the pied piper of the time. That's OK to a point to generate interest and sell seats, but when it becomes a "cult" it is a detriment to the program and university. Pearl played everybody that would buy in for all he was worth and upped the ante until he messed in his nest. It was Showtime! It was inevitable to end poorly and if the right amount of due diligence had been completed prior to his hire the UTAD would have gone in a different direction. With that being said, I sincerely hope Pearl learns and changes his past MO. Just because I didn't like it and his coaching style doesn't mean another program might not want him after his time in the penalty box is served.
You might want to look up how many of the last 40 years UT has been among the top 10-20 nationally in attendance. Of course, that would require you learning something about the history of the program. That's more than you've exhibited the willingness to do to this point.
The Pearlophiles and The Go To The Game To Be Seen Crowd will be long gone. The frontrunners will be nowhere to be found. The crowds will now consist of people who actually care about and support the program, not some clown in body paint. It'll be a welcome change.

We may see the day when we wish we could have someone like CBP to "pack em in"....Your slanted opinion personally makes no sense...to have your satisfaction of being right...just guessing here but I'd bet that's just pretty important to you....we will need an empty tomb next season....Man, do I ever hope you're wrong...if they don't turn out...that speaks volumes about CBP....if they do....status quo...either way...you lose....
Tennessee's lowest finish in attendance since national numbers began being compiled in '75-'76 is 22nd, with 15 of those years in the Top 10. The numbers for the 8 years prior to that would have easily been in the Top 10. That's a whole bunch of years selling a whole bunch of tickets for a program that only exists because of charisma and bodypaint. Please show me the stats then because outside of our "in contention for the NCAA" years, they couldn't even hand out free tickets for people to show up.
