What’s the likelihood that we see civil unrest soon?

It is if you're talking about the off time rights and freedoms nonsense
No, it's not. One is a choice by the individual and cannot have adverse effects. The other is health based and I don't think companies should have a say in the decisions between doctor and patient.

And then leaving could hurt the company. Can we now require employees to stay on to avoid that scenario?
Not at all. And if you endorce a vax mandate the hospitalized or kills your employee, they can no longer work, not because they quit but because you forced them to take something they may not have....your reasoning is why unions were created...unfortunately they created to much protection against crappy employers..but that is another discussion. Bottom line if a company enforces a rule and that rule leads to a employees being hurt, they can be held liable above WC...depending on seriousness

They don't. They're mandating safety protocols that they believe need to be in place for their company. Don't like it, don't work there

I don't think the vaccine should be WC. It should be on the employer on their own. If you forced it to keep employment, That's on you. It's why many didn't require it. A mandate puts the blame on the feds instead. Takes liability away. There really isn't a precedent for it because the requirement is outside premises and isn't indirect like an accident during a commute, which is entirely independent of the business itself.

No, no liability for the vaccine should fall on the employer. FDA says it's safe.

No one is forced to get a needle in their arm. It is always a choice. It seems you just don't like having to make the decision for yourself

Bottom line:
Biden overstepped
DeSantis overstepped
Govt needs to get out

And you don't have a right to insert yourself into their health. Your take boils down to being able to avoid any liability for decisions about others health. You want to ban outside food or drink in the plant and offer water fountains with lead in the water without any liability.

At the very least, when they quit, it's attached on your unemployment. Good?

Employers absolutely have the right to insert themselves into an employees health. Employers can require physically able to preform physicals, have drug free workplaces, bar tobacco users from employment and so on.

The bold is you trying to bring in totally unrelated issues.

Good luck with the FDA protecting you. God forbid any adverse reactions happen to your employees from being forced to vaccinate, but if they do. It should be absolutely open to litigation. Every choice has a consequence including yours.

The owner should also have every right to hire, fire, retain and set the standards he wants from his employees without government interference.
Yes. “WITHOUT GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE”. I couldn’t agree more and that’s why Desantis did what he did. Does it make it right? No. But it’s a lot less wrong than what Biden did to force his hand

DeSantis did the same damn thing as Biden did.

Your employees should organize amongst each other and bring you to your knees, it would be so easy.

It would. My employees could put me out of business very quickly and that's why we offer above average pay, great benefits and treat them with dignity and respect.

I'll bet you're a good little suck. I bet your boss loves you.
What? My boss values my work and wouldn't put up barriers that would drive me away. It may take a couple weeks but I could get another job making more than I do now if they installed a rule like that

I'm the guy in favor of the market working. You must be the other guy

Didn’t you say you’re a cop? How do you reconcile this?
I don’t work in the field anymore. So I’m free to express without recourse. But yes. I’m a certified police officer. Reconciliation can only be obtained by combating dictatorship. That’s what Desantis has done. Yes he maybe should’ve seen how it would’ve went if he simply said it doesn’t apply in Florida and in my opinion he jumped straight to step 2. But you gotta understand this man has a closer relationship with Biden than we do and that tells me there’s a reason why.
