What’s the likelihood that we see civil unrest soon?

The rights of all people? Who decides what those rights are?
Individual rights? Who decides what rights an individual has?

Edit: Not looking for an answer - but I saw my name in your post

The creator (whoever or whatever you believe when it come to that). You were born free and all government does is restrict and limit those freedoms.

It fascinates me that you believe that your personal opinions make you unique somehow and that anyone believing differently are "sheep."
You seem to be one of the ones following orders on vaccinations. If I’m wrong I apologize. But if I’m right, then you sir are a sheep when you’re fighting a battle you’ve already lost. 70% of Americans have been vaccinated. The numbers are as high as they’ve ever been. 🤔. Maybe a little common sense would tell you it don’t work?

DeSantis handled it the wrong way. No other way to look at it.

If he runs for POTUS he's lost my vote.

Same. Proved he's no different than most Republicans. Preaches freedom and how government should stay out of the way until he decides his base needs a win and goes big government to give them that win even though it infringes upon the rights of others.

Orders? No, I didn't follow orders. I have a background in healthcare, listened to the science and made an informed, non partisan decision to get vaccinated - not just for me, but for the people around me.

As vaccination and naturally acquired antibody rates increase, one would expect to see a decrease in serious illness and death. Sans any further variants (that are primarily fueled by the unvaccinated) the morbidity and mortality rates should continue to drop.

I know multiple people in healthcare. Nurses, practitioners, even a doctor or two. About half of them got the shot. The other half refuse. But here’s the kicker. Half of the ones that got the shot were pissed they had to get it to keep their jobs. The only ones I personally know of that got COVID, got it after the vaccination.

I swear I don’t see the infringement. Yes he strong armed businesses but infringement is to the individual. That was Biden.

So you're telling me that only a quarter of the people you know who are healthcare professionals willingly got vaccinated? Is my math right on this?

I'd wager there's a solid 20% that don't want the vax or are hesitant but no way it's 75%, even anecdotally.

In my personal circle, yes. I don’t know everyone so I’m not speaking on everyone.

The founding fathers.
The founding fathers were selected by the majority from their particular society, the people supported by the minority of that society never got a chance to be a founding father. Then, the majority of that founding fathers society overruled the minority of the founding fathers society.
Do you kind of see how it works?

That’s no how it worked at all

Here's a football illustration of how I see it. Player from team A shoves player from team B after the play. Flag thrown. Then guy from team B shoves him back. Another flag. Now the guy from team B (DeSantis) has gone from taking the high ground and letting team A player (Biden) own his BS and getting a free fifteen yards to becoming no different than the player from team A and the penalties offset. Not a perfect illustration but should should get the point across. You do you, but that's how I see it.

On some deep level you have to know how nonsensical that is.

One guy's creator granted him the right to kill whomever he wished, steal what he wanted, and rape who he wanted.
SOCIETY stepped in and said - nope, doesn't work that way - your creator is nuts. We will only agree to support the rights granted by the creators with whom we agree.

Fair enough, that's shocking to me. Again, anecdotally - I have a bunch of conservative MD friends (ENT, OB/GYN, Anesthesia, GP and a Dermatologist) and to a man they are ALL preaching vaccination. My step father is the only MD I knew that refused vaccination (for political reasons) and it almost killed him. He may not admit it but I know he regrets it.

I understand your point as well as hoggs. But in your analogy both players are on equal expectations. Individuals vs corporations are not. One naturally has more freedom than the other. Right, wrong or indifferent thats the way it’s always been

I think if the numbers showed it was working, you’d see a lot less resistance.

But as for me personally, I haven’t worn a mask one. I haven’t had the shot and I haven’t gotten COVID (knock on wood). But when people that have had the shot are still getting it it tells me it’s not worth getting if your Immune system is up to par

Are you kidding?

95%+ of people hospitalized with Covid are unvaccinated. One doesn't need to have mastered differential equations to extrapolate that the vaccine is "working."

You didn’t have one. The people even tried to compromise with the alphabets and it wasn’t good enough. Last I checked religious freedom was a protected right in the constitution and catering to every whim of the mentally ill wasn't a requirement.
Your hatred of gay dudes doesn't let you off the hook. Either a private business is allowed to do whatever they want, or not.
