What year did you attend your first UT game?

Kremser missed from 44 yards, just to the right. His normal hook didn't hook. U.T. had come back on Oklahoma from a 19-0 halftime deficit, and we were down 26-24, and had a possible game winning field goal. I think that the 2 teams were ranked 3 and 4, or 4 and 5 in the country. That was the 67 season.

Wright missed a 21 yarder in the driving rain at the end of the Alabama game in 1966 at Knoxville to lose 11-10. A lot of people still say that field goal was good. It went high over the right upright from the right hash. I asked Wright if it was good, and he said "I don't know. I had my head down."

Wow!!

HOLLY COW $2.50!!!!! I was 4 years old

LOL, yep, $2.50 for my ticket. I bought them from a scalper, and I went to the game with 3 of my friends from Bradley High School, and got my parents to let my drive from Cleveland, TN to Knoxville, TN on that day. Had a great time except for us losing!

Also, one more thing, back then UT was up and down there for awhile on a year to year basis with Coach Majors. The year before, 1983, UT was ranked #1 in Sport Magazine's preseason poll by Beano Cook. He was a big Johnny Majors fan because I think he was the PR guy at Pitt while Majors was there, anyway, my point is you could get tickets cheap back then. I paid $12.00 to see the 1985 UCLA game, which ended in a tie, 26-26..

Wow, I paid $350 for two tickets at the Fla game this year!! How far is Cleveland from Knoxville

1996 UT 62 UNLV 3
I was 6 years old. Ill never forget the goosebumps I got seeing inside Neyland Stadium for the first time.

Now THIS is a fun thread....

First game for me was September 1973 vs. Auburn.

Doug Barfield was the Auburn coach, Bill Battle for UT. There were thunderstorms in the area, and one rolled into Neyland Stadium. In this era, you could have umbrellas in the stands, so I remember sitting in the student section in the south endzone and watching the umbrellas go up....and the storm stalled...at just about midfield....just for a minute or so. Battle ran Neal Clabo, the punter, out on second down and punted into a wall of water. The ball skidded off the old Tartan turf inside the 10. Auburn fumbled on about the second play and UT scored. The storm then covered the whole stadium, and UT won 21-0.

After the game, Barfield said he had heard of "home field advantage", but this was ridiculous!

Unfortunately, I thought this was they way every game would go at Neyland. Obviously not. But as a new freshman (and even as an old fan), that was one fun day!

Go Vols.

Happy Veteran's Day.....and thanks to all of our troops!

If you happen to call in "The Drive" on radio, ask Dewey Warren if Wright's field goal was good. He was the holder, and argued with the ref.

It is around 80 miles from Cleveland to Knoxville, give or take.. I haven't gone to an FLA game since 2004, the last time we beat them at home. I did go to the Cincinnatti game last year and paid $5.00 for two tickets.. The seats were on the 40 yard line on the east sideline.

1990 against a team in red (had to look it up: Temple). I was 7. My friend's dad made us leave in the 3rd quarter. I still remember being mad.

Yep, I remember that game with GA Tech very well, we got lucky to tie that one. That was the week after we beat Bama, and after Tony Robinson got hurt and was out for the season. Darryl Dickey started his first game that day. It was great times but I firmly believe those great times will return again, UT will rise again once more like a phoenix from the ashes!

I remember that one of the Reveiz's (Carlos or Fuad) kicked a long field goal against the wind going toward the Hill to tie. I think it was 53 yards. I didn't think we had a prayer. We had almost no offense in that game, but gutted out a tie 6-6. The team really rallied down the stretch and a lot of people stepped up in the absence of T Rob.

We got stronger and stronger the remaining games and drilled Miami in the Sugar Bowl. That was one of the best defenses we have had in the last 40 years.

1972 First night game- penn state
That was a 28-21 game, and the first game of the season. We had beaten Penn State 31-11 in the last game of 71. I remember running from the stadium to Jose's La Cantina, just off the strip, to try to get in before it got too crowded. That was our post game party.

I was 10 yrs old,..i think i was overwhelmed and in awe,..the whole experience was a blurr. My dad is UT alum and i remember him showing me where he lived under the bleachers. Yep, the bleachers..haha

I was born the day of the Ga. Tech game in 1967, not sure if it counts, but I've been going ever since. We used to eat Sam and Andy's on the hill sitting on the big orange and white UT before they closed in the end zone.
