Who Has Their Carry A Concealed Weapon Permit?

Hey Hdog.
Well you obviously know your stuff. There will always be variables on impact, clothing, buttons etc. Guess my point of "damage" is that a hollow point will frag whereas a slug will mushroom if the round gets to soft tissue.
To be gun specific, I've seen some .38 derringers that have horrible trigger pulls and the grips generally don't lend themselves to accuracy. That is just my argument to Hman suggesting a .38 derringer for a lady to carry. But, at the end of the day, if I have to draw down on someone I want it to be my .40 Glock or a 1911.

No argument about your observations on derringers in general. I'm not a fan though I've handled a Bond Arms derringer that I thought was ok.

I like your preferred options as I've got both of those myself. :)

WOW hndog! That's pretty neat lil' weapon. I sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of the 3" .410 pattern. You're right, the grip looks comfortable. Might have to invest in one of those and holster.
The article didn't mention price....Do you know? Guess I can check gunbroker.com

Thanks for the info. and stay safe.

I have mine for the State of Tennessee. My whole family does...kind of a family tradition.

I carried a S&W M&P 9mm......but since have started carrying a Taurus Ultralight .38 Special. Small....pocketable.....and plenty of knockdown from close range.

Got mine but rarely carry it on my person. Mostly in my truck but will tote it if circumstances dictate. Colt Defender .45 cal. I have to admit, I think I like my .38 Detective Special better. Always been partial to revolvers. And Colts.

NAA-5 shot 22 derringer. Nice pocket pistol. Every weapon has it's pros and cons. That's already apparent. Just showing this in case someone is not aware of it.

Get your lady a .38 derringer. Easy to handle and hard to take away. Of course, an over/under double barreled piece would be better.

Hman....gotta' disagree on this one. Friend is gunsmith for Metro Nash. PD. If you want a derringer, HighStandard makes a .22 mag that is light, easy to conceal, less kick and a hollow point will do more damage than a .38 round.

PJ...S&W makes a .22 mag, stainless, 4" barell revolver that is really nice and managable for a Lady. But, hard to find and expensive. Check Gunbroker.com

It' seems, however, most women I've talked with want something with a safety.....girl thing I guess.

After doing some more reading, I really like this weapon...especially for a Lady. Light, easy to carry and with the .410 you don't particularly have to worry about aim.

D**n Hndog...just what I need, another gun! :)
Really? Glad to see you came around... :p

I have a CWP for SC and carry either a Kahr MK9 or a Ruger SP-101 3" barrel (Two lower right in the top picture below) Yes, I am a bit partial to stainless handguns.

Love my Ruger Mark IV heavy barrel.

Loaned it to a GF to get her carry permit. We went out and shot three clips. Then she out shot all but one guy in the class.

That was a night to remember..:p

I have been extremely impressed with the Khar handguns that I have handled. Quality pistols there.

I carried .45 1911 models for years. I carried a Kimber compact .45, but I recently sold it because I wanted a full-size pistol. I purchased my first Glock (model 21, .45 cal) and really like it. With one chamberd that is 14 rounds of .45 cal ammo ready to go. I like the fact that I have now just about doubled my capacity for my carry pistol.

I've got my CWP in SC as well as a Utah non-resident CWP .

My carry gun is a S&W M&P 40c sub compact , I use to carry my Sig P226 until I bought the S&W .

S&W MP40c subcompact .40 caliber now has Crimson Trace grips on it .

I take care of my 80 year old mother and she voted for Reagan... does she count?

(okay, not "count", like "up to ten", since Ronnie couldn't, I meant like "deadly weapon")

Well I'm a Glock man now and I decided to get two of them within the next few months. The G36 which is a concealable .45 caliber that can fit in your hand and a G21 which is Glock's most famous .45 caliber full-sized.

I'm now looking at getting my concealed permit within the next 2-3 months....
