So now US critical infrastructure is open to be targeted. So we just destroyed billions of dollars of infrastructure partly owner by one of strongest Allies of the past 70 years? Also polluted waters in the Baltic that wash up on the shores of our Scandinavian Allies that care deeply about the environment? . Diplomatically that is an absolute garbage fire if not an outright act of aggression
Yeah, Russia sabataged their own pipeline in waters controlled by NATO friendly countries. And these countries proceeded to control the area during the "investigation".I have no idea who did it but I don't understand the Russia did it angle.
Seems they could just shut it down if they wanted to starve W Europe of oil/gas and that they presumably would want to resume the flow once things settled down with Ukraine - destroying it makes the post war revenue problematic at best.
If they did it to blame it on US then they sure didn't push that angle very hard and it's not sure what the end game would be in doing so.
What am I missing about why Russia would do it?
The Seymour Hersch story also made the assertion that we used former military guys to do the deed, which allowed them to bypass Congressional notification. The RINO Republicans won't do s#!t, but this would be more worthy of an impeachment than anything else.Senator Mike Lee said something along the lines of we better hope this isn’t true, as it would be an act of war committed by the US. The fact that more info isn’t coming out to show that Russia did it is concerning.
If the US used mercs and went around congress and the dod and sabotaged the pipeline under the guise of an “exercise”. I never would have believed that the US would be directly involved in this. I was leaning more to the idea of using a proxy like the UK or Poland to provide plausible deniabilty. But this is one step beyond even a false flag attack... they are openly embracing taking credit for it it seems like... not really trying too hard to even frame it as a Russian attack. If the US used mercs and went around congress and the dod and sabotaged the pipeline under the guise of an “exercise”. If the report is true and Blinken comes out to say that this a good opportunity to get Europe off of fossil fuels and basically forcing these countries to arm Ukraine because of “Russia’s” desire to cut them off. It could get really bad. Is that not basically an act of war?I never would have believed that the US would be directly involved in this. These guys crossed the Rubicon if they really did bypass congress in this manner..
It technically is an act of war, but since Germany is a slave/occupied state to the US, the Germans will thank us for bombing the pipelines. If the report is true and Blinken comes out to say that this a good opportunity to get Europe off of fossil fuels and basically forcing these countries to arm Ukraine because of “Russia’s” desire to cut them off. Of course you would have.I never would have believed that the US would be directly involved in this. Maybe if Hersch keeps it up he can resurrect his career to the status of Bat Boy reporter. Some light reading on anonymous sources for you.Seymour Hersch isn't exactly a journalist at the Weekly World News writing about Batboy.
I'm not sure about Kaitlyn Collins, but...
Unknown/anonymous source she tweeted about.
What if I use anonymous sources or "those close to the White House"?
One of the very first things they need to do is clamp down on "anonymous sources" or "those close to" or "those that have knowledge of" type stories.
