Who takes over at Alabama?

Lanning staying at Oregon. Next man up? DeBoer?

I'm not sure his personality will fit there from everything I've read about him. I don't know enough about him, but just based off speculation. I think Sark may be next up.

Some one who needs to be appreciated.
Someone who currently isn’t appreciated or happy.
Someone that can recruit
Someone who can win.

It’s Dabo folks! 🤣🤣

I have this feeling they make a run at James Franklin like others have suggested. He's already proven he can take a substandard SEC team and make them winners. And took a down PSU and turned them into a top 15 team annually. I despise him and think he's a snake, but he has a lot of upside.

Or Urban Meyer. Regardless of what happens off the field.

Not a chance, even Lane is smarter than that.
Lane followed one legend at USC and now knows better IMO. Following a legend usually means the very next guy bombs out no matter how good he is. Following the guy who followed the legend and bombs out is a lot better. I hope Bama is cursed with plenty of Mike Shuilas and Ray Perkins and finds zero Gene Stalings'.

Would love it if it was JF

While Franklin has led the Nittany Lions to four 11-win seasons, he also now holds a 3-17 record against top 10 teams.
Outside of the top 10, Franklin has had a hard time overcoming teams ranked in the top 25 in general. He holds a 12-25 record over teams ranked in the top 25 of the Coaches poll.

I'd love them to hire him. He's a good coach, but also has been a perpetual bridesmaid at PSU. I think he'd melt at Alabama.

How about this...

Which coach do we NOT want to see at Bama?

Outside of Hype of course.

I think probably their best option just told them no (Lanning), so that is bullish.

I wouldn't want to see Kirby at Bama, but there's no way he's going there. And even if he did leave, that would force UGA to hire another coach who probably isn't as good as Kirby, so it could still be a positive for us.

Franklin's SEC success is a little bit of fools gold IMO, it was pre-Smart UGA and UT was historically down. He also hasn't shown he can win the big games...in the Big 10. I'm a fan of his going to Bama.

DeBoer would be a great hire if I was a Bama fan. Kiffin has burned way too many bridges there and pissed off too many big dollar guys.

I personally think it will be a younger coach with a ton of potential. A proven coach has nothing to gain by going to Bama. You will always be compared to Saban. Bama has to have a few years of heartache for a well seasoned coach to go there.

JMO.

I wouldn't want to see Deboer or Leipold. I also wouldn't want to see Meyer or Kiffin because they would have great initial success, but the upside there is they will probably leave Bama in a worse position then when they got there and they have scandal written all over them.

But he was at...Vandy. They're been a bottom feeder in the SEC since the 1920s. Every win he had over an SEC team, and most teams on their schedule, was a win against a team that had far more talent than he did. And UGA would have played for (and almost surely won) national title in 2012 if they didn't lose that nailbiter to Bama in the SECCG. That was pre-Kirby but was a great team, and the 2013 team he did beat was a solid team.

The longer time goes on, I bet he's one of these coaches that is good at getting a smaller program to punch above their weight, but not quite as good at a program with great talent and beating other teams with great talent.

So in a round about way your saying baggage be damned.
