Why are conservatives not funny?

Fallon's not right for late night but I think he was well-suited for SNL
I think Fallon has a different skill set than any other Late Night host, but it’s more variety show than Late Show. He has a quality that makes him not really dangerous and I think NBC likes it that way. I’ve heard Jeselnik tell stories about how when he was a writer with Fallon that he definitely was a different persona off camera. He kind of acknowledged the drinking stuff, but still says he’s a good guy.

I assume you're too hard working and dignified to be a real hit at parties.

Not at all. People who are articulate and good-looking...and clean!...are always in demand at parties.

Besides, the conservatives are the only ones with the money to pay for the refreshments and the deejay.

Those guys have all made me laugh hard. Are you saying their late night shows aren't funny to you, or they're not funny at all. Fkn Kimmel is so quick.
They can make me laugh when they're not on their self-righteous political soap boxes. But many times their shows are unfunny because they can't stay off of said soap boxes. Kimmel, Colbert, and Seth Meyers are the worst at it. They are constantly spewing their political views rather than being funny. I mean, if that's what they want to do, get a show on CNN to do just that. But if you're going to host a late-night talk show that's supposed to make people laugh, then try putting your politics aside and being funny. The three I mentioned, a lot of times, they just come across as bitter ass holes to me.

Colbert and Kimmel are pros. I've never gotten the appeal of Jimmy Fallon. He just feels contrived to me.
Just being honest, Fallon is about the only one I can stand to watch because Colbert and Kimmel sold out IMO. I think both can be funny, and I've seen them funny, but they turned their shows into anti-Trump infomercials while sucking up to the left. The best political humorists make fun of everyone, not just one side.

That’s exactly why I like guys like Bill Maher and Lewis Black. It’s obvious that they are lefties, but they’ll take on anybody.

True. They call out ridiculousness, even if it's from the party they support. Maher can be a bit much at times, but I respect his fearlessness.

They make fun of both sides, just not equally.

The best political humorists make fun of everyone in a ratio that matches how much they deserve to be made fun of.

No politician has ever deserved to be made fun of more than Trump....not even really close.

It's kind of like making fun of posters in the PF. Do you make fun of all posters equally or do you make more fun of those you consider more deserving?

Are you actually watching their shoes in entirety or are you basing this opinion off clips you see? Who is actually watching these shows beginning to end and seeing this? I highly doubt they are constantly on soap boxes....more than a few minutes a month? Maybe. Probably political jokes a few minutes every night. You guys act like this is all the shows are.

There wasn’t really any mystery to what their show was going to be. You know going in that it was going to be all about Trump. I understand that he’s the easiest target ever, but it’s been 7 or 8 years straight where it’s their identity. At least Leno had Jay Walking or Letterman always had the Top 10 list or whatever crazy stuff he would do. Conan always had his crazy antics, even Fallon does cool stuff w/ musical guests. To me Colbert is the most egregious because the show is completely centered around politics. That’s a choice CBS has made and has tied itself to.

This. Maher is a completely unapologetic and long time liberal, albeit more in the true "classic" sense. He's put out some of the sickest (and funniest) burns of what now makes up much of the left in general and "woke/progressive" culture in particular out there.

I have never been a late night talk show or SNL watcher. The clips I have seen weren't very funny to me. It all seems very fake and forced.

Back in the day i would stay up long enough to watch Carson or Leno for the monologue and the funny skits but then turn off before the Hollywood guests who I never cared about anyway. (Although in hindsight, watching some of the clips of Carson and Buddy Hackett, I missed out 😂).
These days I don’t even care about the political ad disguised as a monologue. Haven’t watched 5 minutes of any of them since Leno

A funny person that leans Right is funny. A funny person that leans Left is funny. A funny person that can make something funny pretty much no matter where you are on the political spectrum is a comedic genius.

For those who believe conservatives are funny, post something you found today from a conservative poster/comedian that's funny and which has a political edge to it.

I'll post one from a liberal take. This, I think, is hilarious.
