Why did Hannity and Ingraham urge that Trump step in to calm the rioters, but now minimize it?

Find me a quote from any CNN or MSNBC anchor or any Democrat member of Congress from the last 60 days criticizing Biden over Afghanistan and I will make my appointment
You can literally search CNN’s website for “Afghanistan” and find stories from today that are critical of the withdrawal.

Here’s a 12 minute video interview with an author who calls it a moral failing that was published to their website way back on 12/14/21.

Here’s Jake Tapper *****ing on him not only for the withdrawal but for not taking responsibility for what a cluster **** it was:
https://theweek.com/cnn/1003797/cnn...-speech-for-being-full-of-finger-pointing?amp

The president said that the buck stopped with him, but in fact, this speech was full of finger-pointing and blame, especially for the Afghans," Tapper said. "...He did not really get into or accept any blame for the catastrophic exit that we have been watching on television in the last several days."

I can understand not following cable news networks like they’re sports teams. It’s probably a societal failing that I was able to find a story about what Jake Tapper said about the withdrawal at all. But detaching yourself from reality to continue cheering for them like sports teams is way worse. Get help.

CNN website, especially links to non CNN authors do not qualify as CNN on air anchor and the Jake Trapper story is from August, hardly in the last 60 days. So my challenge still stands. They want us to forget Afghanistan. Now they are trying to Jedi mind trick us into believing that the economy is great and that inflation is just a temporary bump in the road (and maybe even GOOD because it shows the economy is heating up). The administration and the media think we are idiots and if you can’t see that, then I actually pity you.

Trump is trash, a filthy traitor and loyal only to his family and bank account.

People who continue to think he's anything but are the deplorables Hilldawg spoke of.

Before you whattabout and deflect, I think Biden has done a shi**y job and can't wait to see him go.

Actually, Trump saw a friendly crowd and then got breathless reports from media (or intelligence or most of anyone there) whom he no longer trusts because he suspects they are simply trying to once again set him up - and so he doesnt react. Had he gone out there and said something, you can be sure that they would have used that to destroy him with his base. Again, the more info that comes out, the more that the entire affair seems like just one last attempt by the deep state to delegitimize Trump.
I don't follow that. Trump was leaving office in 2 weeks. Why would anybody care about impacting his support with his base?? His ass was already kicked politically and electorally.

He was and is the face of the republican party. As his bootlickers noted, they were concerned about a tarnished legacy.

They ought to admit that the insurrection was a disaster for the country and for Trump and that Trump should not have promoted it and sgpuld have acted quickly once ot was clear what was happening to stop it.

They should acknowledge their own messages at the time of the subject.

These things need to happen more often. When government gets comfortable we end with the mess we have now.

Same reason they spent that much time and energy to impeach him again - to try to make sure he cant come back. Look, the establishment of both parties was at war with Trump from the day he was nominated. Trump not being particularly partisan (specially since he was dem much of his life), was slow to realize the depth of their willingness for total war. Trump has a great sense for what Joe sixpack is thinking about (which is amazing really but that is a whole diff topic) and he knew what rhetorical buttons to push since he largely shares the feelings that gov apparatchiks are useless leeches and impediments to building things. But I dont think he came into office with any real plan to systematically dismantle things other than to put some new lieutenants in charge and focus the bully pulpit on the big picture. He had no real personal animus and figured it would be like dealing with NYC.

Instead, the establishment took him seriously and planned his demise, whatever it took, barring a physical assassination. They were so afraid of him because it is the one thing they fear...not Trump really but the unwashed populis who put him there. For them, Trump embodies an existential threat to their way of life. I think the first time around, Trump was content to upset the apple cart a bit and soak in the glory from his base. If he gets a second chance tho, it will be very personal and few people that rich hold grudges like Trump. Now that he understands fully that they are against him root and stem, he is much more likely to be far far more dangerous to the bureaucratic way than he ever was before, possibly eliminating departments and even entire sub-agencies who are in his sights.

Is this good? is this bad? depends on where you sit I suppose.

I’ve been busy in my shop all day. I saw a news banner on this and I KNEW LG would be starting a new thread with a specific few tripping over themselves to get a quick shot in. I wasn’t disappointed 😂

The gymnastics you went through to believe anything you just wrote was a rational take on this situation is astonishing.

Validation that everything we've believed for the last 5 years is bittersweet.

This is really hard to fathom.

Clearly, they were trying to appeal to Trump's ego to get him to step in by saying it was hurting his mage. But the fact that they now minimize what went on is just appalling. And they don't even acknowledge their texts or try to explain the inconsistency between their attitude then versus now?

Nothing will happen to them and they didn't do anything wrong at the time. But the insistence of Fox in general and those two in particular in downplaying it now is just ridiculous at every level. 'fess up, it was a big frickin deal, it was bad, really bad, and everyone knows it.

If only we had all the private messages from the leftist commie filth from the 2020 blm/antifa riots.

To answer the question posed: because they're cynical, hypocritical pieces of excrement.

Of the many, many, many incidents that the media has either downplayed or overplayed (and in some cases outright lied, intentionally left out or changed key information, etc.)... color me shocked that this is the one that has your panties ruffled.

Could you be more hypocritical?

Sycophants like @C-south that think Trump can do no wrong are just as deranged as those that think Trump can do no right.

Another TDS’er. I never said Trump could do no wrong. At times he was hard to listen to and he just needed to shut up but it’s not debatable his policies are infinitely better than at least the last two alternatives.

Yeah, here's the list of the "charges." Many, dare say the majority of them are complete ********.

Capitol Breach Cases
There is no way to watch the video from both outside the Capitol and inside the Capitol and objectively arrive at the conclusion that the protest on January 6th was "mostly harmless and peaceful". That is either being willfully ignorant or delusional. Hundreds of people are seen scaling the walls outside the Capitol and using flag poles to forcibly enter the building. Police officers and Capitol security guards are sprayed with chemical irritants and physically assaulted. I doubt that you would ever describe a similar-looking scene involving Black Lives Matter or Antifa protestors in such a way. Your take could be based on nothing more than tribalism. The protestors on January 6th were on your "team", and so that makes them less offensive in nature. That is pure political partisanship.

Almost a year in with Biden, and you're still posting threads about Trump? Not one that I've seen bragging about, or condemning Biden for his mess. Literally, rent free in your head🤣. You're one of those who will go to your grave never getting over him beating Hillary, and no amount of threads will change that 🤣
